Way to prevent duplicates in playlists.

I have big playlists, and would like a built in way to prevent duplicates from occuring in my playlists.  This could be an option to prevent, or select/hide duplicates.

To the Spotify Team:

If you update a suggestion in this forum, it would be nice if you would add the date when you made the last change. 

It would be much more transparent by when you last updated it.

No this option is very very important! it would make us collectionnist so much happier and it will improve all the collectionnists friends experience and chance of listenning to real music... It's called satisfying the customer

I mean how hard is it to replace "Add to" with "Move to" when the song is in my playlist... I can almost write that code by myself

i don't just want to be able to prevent duplicates in a given playlist. i also want an easy method of knowing whether a track is in my library anywhere.

Yes! This would be alot of timesaving for people who has the huge playlists with thousands of songs, I feel like you constantly need to doubble check when you add new songs if the tracks allready exists or not... annoying!

Highly support this idea. It would be so simple to add. I don't care too much if the duplicate is a copy of 1 of spotify's copies, because several songs on spotify have many copies. (for example there are many copies of songs on different albums or remasters) But I only care I don't add the EXACT same song ID identification to the same playlist twice. (sometimes I want the slightly different copies on the song on the same playlist) This should be so easy to program it's amazing how old this suggestion is. You can work on detecting harder to spot duplicates... but preventing copies on 1 playlist with the exact same spotify URL ID should be easy peasy.
