Way to prevent duplicates in playlists.

I have big playlists, and would like a built in way to prevent duplicates from occuring in my playlists.  This could be an option to prevent, or select/hide duplicates.

Update 2015-03-17

Hello everyone. Spotify here. With the latest release of the Desktop app, this feature is now available across Desktop, iOS and Android. Thanks for the feedback. Enjoy!

Good idea! For a start, I'm also happy with Spotify notifying me when I want to put an album in a playlist that's already in there!

Yes, it could just be like itunes, which tells you that you are attempting to add songs that are already in the playlist and to confirm whether you really want to add them or to skip duplicates, since I can forsee certain times that you might want a particular song to appear multiple times in a playlist.

Hi,

Just to say that we have to see immediatly when we brought the Spotify catalog that a song is already in our playlist.

A icon will be fine or the name of the track in different color in the catalog.

This would be amazing! I hate running into dupes.

I find new songs all the time. But i can't remember the name of them all, neither if i've added them to my playlist. And i don't want 2 of the same song in my playlist (who wants that). But i find myself adding the same song twice quite often and its quite anoying. Could you make a feauture for this, like everytime i add a song twice in the same playlist a popup will ask me if i really want to add it.

Sounds good doesn't it?

@colorit7 - merged your idea with this one

It would be nice too if there was a way to prevent duplicates within the play queue.

Hi Spotify.

I would really benefit from having a button which allows you to remove duplicate songs from playlists.

Not sure if this has been suggested before but I think that it would be a really useful addition, saving time when trying to do this process manually.

Thanks 🙂
