Way to prevent duplicates in playlists.

I have big playlists, and would like a built in way to prevent duplicates from occuring in my playlists.  This could be an option to prevent, or select/hide duplicates.

Definitely agree. Im a recent subscriber to Spotify and the reason why I joined was to 'discover' music. This means frequently putting songs into a playlist, even if I can't remember if I've heard it already. Duplication is a real issue. Please change from 'under consideration' Spotify to 'in development'!

I have lists of 9k+ songs, and I have to use tools like this to remove duplicates often: http://paulvi.nl/deduplicator/

This results in all tracks changing "Added"-date to current date. This is a problem, since then I dont know what I have listened to or what I have just added.

This feature is "needed"!

It can't be that hard to write code to sort a list/dbtable and remove duplicates, so why isn't this already implemented?

Right-click a playlist - Remove Duplicates - Popup-dialog "XX duplicated songs removed [OK]"

We definately need the ability to remove duplicates from playlists. This was one of the reasons I didn't end up using spotify several months ago when I tried it out and now I am trying it out again and it still doesn't have it.

How about about an additional column when u right click a track...

For example when u use the radio function and u not sure if u already have the track in one of ur playlst....

right click on the track-->additional column with "already listed in...." -->if its listed in more than one list u can put a subsequent column that shows all the lists the track is listed in --> if u click it then u get to the track and the playlist   (maybe there is even place at the column for an additional instant remove option "remove from playlist" button)....

what;s taking so long? I pay for spotify and want this feature. This could be a premium feature or something, but get it done at least for people who pay. This is common sense.

i would like for you to creat a way to alphabetize our playlists so i dont have to search endlessly for a particular artist. lets say i downloaded an artist a year ago but i want to  listen to that playlist today...i have to go to playlists then scroll and scroll until i find that playlist OR i can search the artist and download the playlist again...waste of time and space!!!

totally agree with this. I build my playlists via the radio to pickup songs that i may have never heard before. after i have done this a few times i often forget what i have already added. if ther was a analytical query code that would send alert that "this track currently exists on this playlist do you wish to continue adding" woulId be extremely beneficial. I believe itunes has such a tool. I haven't used itunes in a long time though. Thank you spotify.
