Way to prevent duplicates in playlists.

I have big playlists, and would like a built in way to prevent duplicates from occuring in my playlists.  This could be an option to prevent, or select/hide duplicates.

Update 2015-03-17

Hello everyone. Spotify here. With the latest release of the Desktop app, this feature is now available across Desktop, iOS and Android. Thanks for the feedback. Enjoy!

This is way overdue. If the UID for the song already exists in the playlist, skip it and notify the user.

Totally Agree!

Please add! I was very surprised Spotify kept re-adding the same song to the same playlist.

Either ignore a re-add, or (better) just indicate which playlist(s) the song is already in.

PLEASE OH PLEASE OH PLEASE

such a huge time vortex removing duplicate tracks

I'd like to duplicates to be avoided. If I add a track twice, it shouldn't be added the second time. Unless, perhaps, I explicitly enable a "dupes allowed" option on the playlist.

New to Spotify myself and find this to be a big problem ...

Why does it take Spotify so long to implement tiny but crucial fixes such as these?

I would like it if, when you went to add it to a playlist, It highlighted the playlists it was already in. I often lose track of the songs I listen to using the radio.

Great idea!

I too have huge playlists and I keep having to use ctrl + f to find if I have already added a song to my 300+ track playlists!  This should be an obvious feature to be added and would require very little extra code.

Again Spotify: get with the program and start adding reall features.  Your dev team is abismally slow at fixing problems and adding features users have requested for years.
