Way to prevent duplicates in playlists.

I have big playlists, and would like a built in way to prevent duplicates from occuring in my playlists.  This could be an option to prevent, or select/hide duplicates.

Update 2015-03-17

Hello everyone. Spotify here. With the latest release of the Desktop app, this feature is now available across Desktop, iOS and Android. Thanks for the feedback. Enjoy!

I would need this "avoid duplicate" feature also on my desktop app... why only in the mobile versions???

PLEASE add this (awesome) duplicate warning to the desktop app.  That's where all my complex playlists are made!!!

I'm glad that the feature to prevent duplicates is on the Android and iOS app but the desktop client does not do the same. You can just add duplicates without warning. I would love the same prompt to happen if I try to add a duplicate song to a playlist.

Thanks.

What about the PC app??

So here is an interesting thing I just found as I was trying to figure out how to prevent or quickly remove duplicates from my Liked From Radio playlist, which I kind of use as my "Pandora Shuffle Stations" listening mode for when I want to hear a larger mix of my music, since Spotify doesn’t allow multiple-seed radio stations yet...  But you can also use this to clean duplicates from any playlist.

(This is being done on the PC platform; I don't usually do much maintaining or creating on a mobile device)

The Starred playlist won't allow you to add duplicates to it at all and since I don't use my Starred playlist for anything it is always empty.  If yours is not you can create a temporary holding list for your Starred items and move them back after you clean yours lists as follows…

1.) Go in to the playlist with the duplicates & select all the tracks in it.

2.) Right-click & “Add to...” your “Starred” playlist.

(this will add all the tracks leaving all duplicates behind)

3.) Delete all tracks from the original list.

4.) Select all the tracks in the now populated “Starred” playlist

5.) Rick-click & “Add to…” the original playlist.

The duplicates will not have been added to the Starred playlist and so will not be carried back to the original playlist.

I know reading it this may seem complicated but when you have done it a couple of times you will be able to clean up your playlists in a matter of seconds.

This is actually a bug (in my opinion) and needs to be fixed...

What about Windows Phone?

This should be implemented on desktop as well.

It'd be nice for this feature to be implemented in the desktop application. Already very useful during mobile use.
