[Your Music] Add LOCAL FILES to Your Music

First of, I'm a huge fan of the new layout.

But as the title says I'd like to add my own beloved local files to the "Your Music". I don't see why this shouldn't be a possibilty. This way I don't need to have one master playlist, I can just have all the music I like under "Your Music -> Songs".

Also, as suggested earlier, changing the font size could be usable to many people.

Hey folks,

Thanks for coming to the Spotify Idea Exchange and voting to make this happen.

We're happy to announce that the option to add Local Files to your Liked Songs playlist is now available on both the mobile and desktop apps!

Once again, thanks for helping us make Spotify better, by participating here on the Community.

There are still people who have this problem, i do too.

Could this feature please be mved up to "planned"? I don't like the Not Right Now as it feels like it is saying "sorry guys, we dont think your problem is worth our time".

This would greatly enhance my experience

Without a doubt, this is the single most frustrating aspect of Spotify right now. Why has this not been addressed for such a long period of time. That was the what was great about Spotify...combining the rare music I had on my hard drive with the readily available stuff in Spotify's collection into playlists that included both, and then playing them on my phone with the off line feature. Spotify lost a tremendous amount of value by losing this functionality. How the hell is the "Your Music" format considered an improvement? That is the idea of new versions right? If this functionality doesn't return soon I'm dropping premium. I'll just use the $120/year to buy songs on iTunes and Spotify can F-off. Can you tell you've pissed off your customers? Not even an inkling of when it will reestablish this feature. Sure seems like you don't give a f**k.

This really should be up there with Spotify's priorities. The whole appeal of Spotify is basically "we can replicate your entire itunes library and you never have to buy music again," that's why there's so many features allowing the itunes switch over be seamless. Apart from this one?

If you want people to use Spotify as their all-round media player, which is obviously the case, this is a basic feature which is needed.

It is even more of a problem now that some big artists are leaving Spotify (e.g Taylor Swift) and they can't be easily replaced in the 'Your Music' section. You could make up for all the content spotify is missing by being able to say "You can import it yourself and have it all in one place."

This is my first time with Spotify premium, but im looking a google music now, soely for this lack of feature.

this is really important! please do something about this - soon!

Yep Spotify.  You are playing catchup on this one.  I did some research on which streaming site I wanted to use and very nearly went to Deezer because I could upload my whole catalog I had.  1 Eva Cassidy album - you are kidding - but imagine my suprise when I set local files to the top folder for my music library and Spotify does nothing.  I work in IT.  It is nothing to also scan sub-folders.  Please fix this.

I hope apple music can do this. I really like spotify but if I have the ability not to switch apps all the time I will gladly cancel my spotify premium.

Can apple msuic do this, can someone confirm...
