Reintroducing unlimited access to lyrics within the Spotify app and integrating subscription buttons directly into the app rather than redirecting users to the website would significantly enhance the user experience. Lyrics are an essential part of the music experience, allowing users to engage more deeply with the songs they love. By removing the limits on lyric access, Spotify can cater to the demand for more interactive and immersive music sessions. Additionally, embedding subscription buttons within the app streamlines the process of upgrading or managing subscriptions, making it more convenient for users. This seamless integration can lead to higher user satisfaction and retention, as it reduces friction and makes the app more user-friendly.

I see nothing wrong with this. If it’s as simple as googling then just do that. Some services don’t even allow you to listen to music without having to pay.

Hi

somnomania

@evanarousseau you obviously haven't looked through this thread. the majority of people replying have had very valid points on why this was a terrible move on spotify's part. the one i've seen the most is that for people who are deaf or hard of hearing, lyrics are critical, and while yes, people can just open a new tab and google the lyrics, and it's not THAT hard, it's a pain in the ass and it's just spotify trying to wring more money out of people. i personally have a fanmix i was working on when i discovered that, on may 5th, the first time i visited the site in may, i was somehow already out of free lyric views for the month. between not wanting to use the site in protest and not being able to easily see the lyrics for songs, it's come to a standstill. the fact that we can go google the lyrics is just proof that spotify needs to not be hiding them behind a paywall.

I think it would be good because if you don't know the words you can learn them but right now you can only do so if you have premium. It annoys me because I use the web player and it is super disheartening when it says "Enjoy lyrics on Spotify Premium", especially if it is a song you really like and you can't sing along with the lyrics to help you.

who even cares about free lyrics yall can go to genius or AZlyrics or whatever. 😒 WE NEED A DISLIKE BUTTON!

Making something that used to be free premium now is just the stupidest move ever. Who ever thought of this idea you have the brain size of a penny, what else profile picture is premium next? This is so dumb. Now I have to literally search up the song lyrics while listening to the song but I COULD HAVE been already seeing them on the app itself.. Spotify I love you but stop being dumb.
