Apple Watch: Offline Listening

 

watchOS 5 should allow Spotify to develop an app that allows offline listening and streaming via cellular data.

Hey everyone,

Thanks for coming to the Spotify Idea Exchange and voting to make this happen.

Тhis has been one of our most upvoted ideas and we've known it's something that our users would really like to see come true. We're happy to announce that this feature will now become available for the Apple Watch Series 3 or later.


It will be gradually rolled out, so it might take a bit until everybody has access to it.  That being said, we'd like to let you know that the roll-out rate has increased a lot in the last weeks, so if you haven't received the feature in the past, try reinstalling the app on your watch again and there's a big chance you'll get Offline listening now.

Once again, thanks for helping us make Spotify better and voting to make this happen, here on the Community.

181 pages of comments and less than 10 replies backs up that comment. Although I will say I left and came back due to the other benefits of Spotify. I agree communication is the key however I suspect there is more to that then meets the eye. 

all that being said I still don’t see the download to watch option. Should I be patient or am I missing something.

I´ve updated all the Spotify apps in my devices, including my iPhone, but still unable to download playslists to the Apple Watch. I´ve heard that there´s a limit of 50 tracks per playlist or up to 4 hours. Is this accurate?

I understand that it is being rolled out slowly, but does it have an ETA? Will I be notified once available? Thanks!

my status

i live in Japan.

My iPhone is 12pro/iOS 14.4.2

My Apple Watch is watch series4/ver7.1

Spotify app is downloaded in Japanese App Store and the version is the newest one.

And my Spotify is premium account.

 

but i can’t use this new function,

is there any problem ?

Or this function is only for some countries excluded Japan ?

The ability to download music to the Apple Watch app for offline use is still rolling out over the next several weeks. You might not be seeing it just yet.

Don't call a suggestion "implemented" when it's not available yet! Absurd. If my app is up to date and I don't have the feature, it isn't "implemented" yet.

@CaseFaceMcGee It's implemented for some, as it's a feature being rolled out. It's implemented in the software, but distributed differently. Enjoy the sun.
