A Continue listening playlists for podcasts

I frequently find it difficult to access the podcasts I was listening to and did not finish. Whether I forget or just get distracted and stop listening. It would be nice to have a podcast playlist option that is labeled “Continue Listening”. This would allow me to have a list of podcasts that I have not finished. It would be nice to make it interactive as well, to where I can remove a partially listened to podcast if I stopped listening intentionally.

Currently, when a user doesn’t finish a podcast episode, they have to manually search for it in their library, making the experience less seamless. Unlike music playlists or platforms like Netflix—where users can easily pick up where they left off—Spotify lacks a dedicated section on the homepage for unfinished podcast episodes. This gap makes it inconvenient for users and could reduce engagement with podcast content.

Solution: "Continue Listening" Section

Introduce a “Continue Listening” section on the Spotify homepage, allowing users to effortlessly resume unfinished podcast episodes. This feature would:

  • Display in-progress episodes prominently on the homepage, just like Netflix allows users to resume shows and movies.
