Ability to duplicate already made playlists

Ability to duplicate already made playlists

As a streamer on twitch that uses spotify playlists daily i really thing we need a way to easily duplicate a whole playlist already made (preferably the playlists of their respective accounts) as i mostly need the same playlist but then remove and add songs and that would just help me out alot!

Hey there @NoNamusJR,

We hope you don't mind us moving your post out of the ideas section to one of our Help boards as it fits better here.

That being said, we’d like you to know that this is already possible within the app. You can make copies/duplicates of playlists made by you or others by opening them and locating their three-dot menu. There, you can select the Add to other playlist option, that way you’ll be able to either create a complete new playlist or add those tracks to an existing one. This option is only available in the desktop and mobile app.

If you’re using the desktop app, you have a couple of options more:

  1. You can copy all the songs in a playlist by scrolling until the last song and clicking at it while pressing shift. All songs will be selected and by clicking the right mouse button, you can add them to an existing playlist or create a new one.
  2. You can also use the command Control + a to select all the tracks in a playlist and create a copy with the Add to other playlist option.
  3. It’s also possible to create a copy of a playlist chunk. To do it, you can press control while clicking all the songs you’d like, or by scrolling until a specific track and pressing shift to select that specific chunk of a playlist. Then, the same, you'll just need to click the right mouse button and add them to one of your playlists or create a new one.

If perhaps the idea you have in mind works differently, feel free to post your suggestion again, making sure you follow our Idea Exchange Guidelines. That way, others will find it easily and can show their support.

Lastly, just a friendly reminder: keep in mind Spotify is meant for personal use.

We hope you found this helpful. Let us know if you need anything else.
