[All Platforms] Ability to block certain Genres

Similar to blocking an artist or certain tracks from appearing, but I want to be able to just not see anything of certain genres. I have zero interest in them, and all it does is annoy me to see them.

You should suggest similar music from what I listen to. Just because I'm from Latin America doesn't mean I like that music, I hate it. That's why I'm paying premium.

Encuentro sumamente molesto que en la página principal de la aplicación se muestren sugerencias de artistas que no me interesan y que, sinceramente, nunca me interesarán. Me considero una persona con gustos bien definidos y una apreciación particular por la música, por lo que resulta ofensivo que se me sugiera contenido como reguetón. I'm Brazilian and on Spotify Brasil there are 2 tabs, one with the name "launches" and the other with the name "discovery". However, the suggestions that appear are not always the styles that I like, could you add a filter to these tabs to choose the styles and display releases and discover only the styles that interest me? Most of the time the releases appear in a band and style that I don't like, such as Brazilian funk, country music, among others.

I'm so tired of seeing random rap or pop playlist in my cathedral of rock, metal and folk. I do not want to listen to the "sing in the shower" or "happy" tracks. Please, give us an ability to block certain genres and customize the feed to exclude certain sections like "editor picks" that always contain completely unrelated to my taste playlists.

Problem

I really want to use the top 50 - Norway feature on Spotify (because it helps me just find the most popular music in Norway atm without having to spend time researching that myself), but every time I use it, the first few songs are nice, but then then it reaches some Norwegian party music (Soppgirobygget, Ballinciaga etc) which have a lot of Plays - probably from younger people. So even though there are a lot of nice songs in the top 50, I can't just hit play from the top without getting a lot of music I am not interested in.

Solution

Would it be possible to add an option to filter this music genre (Norwegian party music) out of my top 50? It would make this feature so much more valuable to me.

I don't want to listen to Jazz or House or Reggae or Folk or Country or pretty much anything else than the genre I'm interested in, however 60% of suggestions are from genres I never listen to.

Please add an option to block specific music genres, like reggaeton. Many users would appreciate having more control over the music they’re recommended or exposed to, especially in curated playlists and algorithm-based suggestions.

This feature should work similarly to the existing "Don't play this artist" option — but applied to entire genres. It would be incredibly helpful for listeners who want to personalize their experience and avoid genres they don't enjoy.

i’m on spotify more than any human should be and i have a lot of ideas(needs). one of them being i need to be able to exclude certain genres in my liked songs, like maybe tap once to select and tap twice to exclude. and for god sakes give me all of the genres all the time i can’t figure out the algorithm wizardry to bring back the genre that i want to listen to. speaking of algorithms the freaking shuffle algorithm! it just plays a section of my liked songs over and over again. is it based off of your recent artists or songs? make it COMPLETELY random and add a button to  have it add songs with that bpm, structure, melody, age etc. apologies for the smattering of suggestions i am slightly musically addicted and spend a lot of time on this app. on it for over 10 years, biggest year was 111k minutes. my spotify is 60gb. i’d love to chat with a developer, my email is attached to my account.
