Hi Spotify Team,

I’d like to share feedback on a creative feature gap that’s really important to me. Right now, there is no way to manually trigger a Playlist Radio, the way we can with a single song or artist.

This is a big issue for emotional and creative users. Sometimes a playlist forms a deep emotional journey — and we want to extend it into discovery mode. Spotify does start a Playlist Radio automatically sometimes, but there’s no way to start one on demand, and worse: when it starts, the label often disappears.

Could you please pass this along as a feature request:
“Add a Start Radio button to Playlists — just like with songs and artists.”

Thanks for listening, and I’d appreciate an email follow-up so I know it’s been received.

With appreciation,

74 pages of comments of people wanting this feature back should be enough interest!

Years later, still wishing this existed

Let’s say you’re making a playlist and you add around 7 songs from the same artist, There should be a button at the top of your playlist that when pressed, it will take your whole playlist and mix it all up so that you don’t have a block of songs by the same artist in you playlists formation and your not having to go back and forth trying to make a divided playlist, i’d really like this feature and im sure many more would also, please consider making this a reality. Thank you

this was really the only feature that made Spotify stand out to me against its competitors. Playlist radio allowed me to discover so many artists and songs I had never heard before. Unlike song or artist radio, playlist radio allowed for you to tailor your recommendations better to an overall vibe rather than just finding songs similar to a single song or artist. Furthermore, when I used playlist radio I was constantly introduced to new music where as majority of the songs that show up in artist and song radio are songs I have already heard before, usually majority I even already have liked and downloaded, so it doesn't actually help me discover new music.

I used to solely listen to playlist radio for hours to find new music and expand upon a playlist I already made and enjoyed but was getting bored with.. song radio and artist radio are much more limited, don't let you have a mixed vibe, and doesn't push enough music that I haven't already saved.

Pandora has Playlist radio

"Your suggestion has gathered the votes necessary and your feedback is now reaching the internal teams at Spotify."

And then is was printed and stuffed under the bed where the developers are sleeping on it since more than two years now. Is there nobody at Spotify being embarrassed by this move? Don't you at least want to mimic some movement instead of openly showing us that this thread is just "here, talk to the hand"?

Why would they most people didn't cancel because of it. Companies do not
care about you or your opinion, they care about your money.

Please bring it back. I often prefer spotify but I switched to pandora because of this.

Why remove this? I seriously miss this feature and don't understand what the point would be to remove something so universally loved.
