Bring back "Pin playlists to homescreen"

According to a discussion on https://community.spotify.com/t5/Your-Library/Move-playlists-to-Homescreen/td-p/5453989 it is "currently not available".

Albums are possible to be pinned to the homescreen, but the support to do the same with playlists is removed recently

Through this way I would like to request to add this functionality back to the android app

***update: I did get a playlist shortcut back on my Android homescreen finally. Try going into the app drawer, long press on the Spotify icon, the Playlist i wanted popped up in the context menu, another long press sent it to the homescreen.

***update 2: Wasn't sure at first how to control what playlists show up in the long press pop-up but so far it has worked by navigating to the Playlist and hitting the phone's homescreen button and going back through the long-press process above. Each time the most recently displayed playlist in the app was visible in the pop-up.

I'm a little late to this party. My last two phones had the shortcuts automatically transferred over by the phone backup service; so I had no idea this had been removed until my most recent phone transfer didn't bring them with it! Super bummed. I used those homescreen shortcuts literally every day.

Like @phrozenstare mentioned, my work vehicle is a Ford Transit van fleet vehicle. No android auto even though it's a 2019 so the shortcut was a huge lifesaver while driving. Not every new vehicle has fancy tech.

This was a great feature to make a tablet usable for a toddler. Spotify library is not good for this. With the 'pin to homescreen' you can create a homescreen with Disney stories, one with music, one with paw patrol, and so on. Please bring this function back!

The honorable people at Spotify, when they think to place "suggestion accepted?" are going to have us a lifetime with the revision of the suggestion? Which by the way is no suggestion since that function of "pinn playlist to the home screen" was simply expropriated from us.

please re-add this!

I share great frustration with the android/spotify community when this feature was taken away. I Use a folder on my home screen that contains 3 pages of playlists and now I can't continue to add more. Please return the feature Asap

Found this waiting for votes to get seen by the Spotify powers that be. I had an entire screen of my favorite playlists available so I could just tap the screen to change what I'm listening to in the car. I also bought a Car Thing, which I love, but it does not speak Texan apparently. I have to yell at it more than a few times to get even close to the playlist I want when before I could just tap once on my phone home screen to listen to my music. Now I have to dig through Spotify to find the playlist, and to be honest, I just listen to the radio mostly now in the car because I don't want to mess around on my phone while I'm driving. I'm not sure how anyone who actually ever used Spotify thought this should be a disposable option. Even after having bought a Car Thing, I'm looking into alternatives at this point because it has become a barely functional app for what I use it for. This needs to be a reinstated feature.

I really can't understand why this feature was taken away, as they didn't replace it with anything at all. Not only they took this feature away, they also didn't increase the number of playlists you can pin in your library to at least make them somewhat easier to access than having to search for them.

Please give us this feature again.

Being able to add the playlist shortcuts to my home screen and have them autoplay is the ONLY reason why I use Spotify on my Galaxy.  Honestly, without this feature, I'll just go back to the Youtube Music account I'm already paying for. At least with YM, I have a better selection of HOMEWORK EDITS and extended play tracks.

I'm curious to see the UX research data lead to this feature's removal. What methodology did you use to test this move?  What was the motivation behind all of this? Was it just to spark a reaction? If so, consider it a success.

It makes no sense at all.

Please make sure the restoration of this functionality INCLUDES the ability to do the same with albums. Contrary to what is suggested in the OP, there is no longer an option to add albums to the home screen either.

Bring back that feature. It was helpful.

This function is a life-saver and it facilitates my listening behaviour in an unprecedented way. As a music craving person, that is actually a huge deal for me and for a lot of friends using the service. Please bring it back.
