Bring back "Pin playlists to homescreen"

According to a discussion on https://community.spotify.com/t5/Your-Library/Move-playlists-to-Homescreen/td-p/5453989 it is "currently not available".

Albums are possible to be pinned to the homescreen, but the support to do the same with playlists is removed recently

Through this way I would like to request to add this functionality back to the android app

***update: I did get a playlist shortcut back on my Android homescreen finally. Try going into the app drawer, long press on the Spotify icon, the Playlist i wanted popped up in the context menu, another long press sent it to the homescreen.

***update 2: Wasn't sure at first how to control what playlists show up in the long press pop-up but so far it has worked by navigating to the Playlist and hitting the phone's homescreen button and going back through the long-press process above. Each time the most recently displayed playlist in the app was visible in the pop-up.

I'm a little late to this party. My last two phones had the shortcuts automatically transferred over by the phone backup service; so I had no idea this had been removed until my most recent phone transfer didn't bring them with it! Super bummed. I used those homescreen shortcuts literally every day.

Like @phrozenstare mentioned, my work vehicle is a Ford Transit van fleet vehicle. No android auto even though it's a 2019 so the shortcut was a huge lifesaver while driving. Not every new vehicle has fancy tech.

As others have said, why remove features instead of adding new ones? I found it quite useful as I listen to a lot of music and I'd add albums to my homescreen to check out (instead of cluttering up my "loved" albums). If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Stop being silly and bring it back.

Bring Back Pin Playlists to Homescreen of Spotify

Introducing a homescreen widget to pin playlists to Spotify might not be a bad idea. Not only will it help you keep track of your favorites, but it will also help you find new content to listen to. Whether you are looking for a new song to listen to or a podcast, Spotify will help you find them quickly.

Spotify has been working on its player interface design. It has announced a new home screen layout, and it will roll out over the next week. In addition, the app has a new icon at the top right of the screen. This will display the recently played list and also a new 'feeds' section.

The newly redesigned home screen aims to make it easier for users to find new content. It will include six tiles that change throughout the day. Each tile will contain a different type of content. The recently played list will display the most played songs, and a new section will show new content recommendations. The home screen will also include pill-shaped buttons that will show you the most recent podcast episodes.

If you are a fan of podcasts, you will be excited to see that the new home screen has a widget for searching for new podcasts. You can search for any type of podcast you are interested in, and the widget will show you recommendations based on your preferences.

Another great new feature is a widget for pinning items to the top of your library. You can pin up to four items to the top of your library, and it moves them to the top of the list. (Gacha Neon APK)

Please bring back add to home screen. Why take it away in the first place? Until you can offer a fully customizable homepage, this is a valuable feature. Don't take something away, then say it has to go through a suggested new feature process to get it back. Come on Spotify, this is like something Microsoft would do.

This needs to be back. So useful!

What's with the generic copy and paste responses? "Good Suggestion". Mate, it was literally A FEATURE up until a few weeks ago. This is pathetic.

I also want to know why Spotify's customer support refuses to answer my questions. I pay for a premium service which they are no longer providing. A far as I'm concerned they are in breach of contract in removing essential functions which were part of the service when I began paying for it. Spotify is now no longer fit for purpose. The trouble is, nor are any of its rivals.

I really need this feature back! I won't continue paying for a service that removes features I've been paying for

@Spotify what ridiculous feedback. "Good suggestion", really? I actually wonder if you use your own product or software yourself. You must have noticed how useful this feature was, right? Spotify can't tell me that you haven't used this feature yourself? It's so sad when such a strong request is answered with a standard response. That hurts! As a premium customer, I feel slightly fooled by your feedback and wonder if you actually hear us. I would actually pay for this feature of adding albums or playlists to the home screen, and I'm sure many other customers would too - wait a minute, we're already doing that! Sincerely - another disappointed customer.

Let's go Spotify people, I think they should be more serious, we are demanding that they return what they took from us. Some of us left YouTube Music because it seemed Super important to be able to pin the playlist both within the application and also on the main screen, in my case it was to be able to pin playlist in the Homescreen of the phone. And this made life easier for many, others simply fell in love with these functions after knowing them. Many do not know about this community, And simply  do not know about the vote! We demand that you return what was taken from us please.  We ask you with great respect even though you were not respectful to us. Thank you.
