Canvas on iOS 26 Lock Screen

With iOS 26, Apple Music allows you to see animated cover art on the Lock Screen. Why not bring this functionality to Spotify Canvas? We should have the animated cover art from the Spotify app on the Lock Screen just like Apple Music.

I agree with this user. If Spotify doesn’t do this I’m unsubscribing and moving to Apple Music and I’m sure lots of other people will too.

i agree with this young fella. i think spotify should make animated cover art. if spotify doesn’t do this i will be unsubscribing and going to apple music.

Although it’s a fairly new feature and the devs might not view it as that much of priority, I think we’ll find quite a few people trying Apple Music just because of its recent improvements and maybe even switching just because of the visuals. It’s a simple, elegant way to make listening more immersive without having to open the app. For those of us who appreciate the visual side of music, it would be a meaningful enhancement to the already existing canvas system Spotify currently offers. Hopefully the Devs can see the potential this new iOS 26 update offers in terms of visuals and roll out improvements accordingly.

They still don’t have native HomePod support, at this point I don’t know if they’ll ever implement Apple ecosystem focused stuff.

I’d assume you guys on the Spotify team are aware of the iOS 26 animated lockscreen album art and I love Spotify I have always preferred it as my go to Inuse it over YouTube and Apple Music. I’m a huge Apple and Google glazer and I still prefer Spotify over both Apple Music and YouTube music which is obv huge. I was wondering if you guys were ever planning on adding the new iOS 26 animated music lockscreen album art. Both Apple Music and YouTube music have it and lately solely because of that feature I have been using Apple Music. I have seen many forum posts of people also saying how they are thinking of switching from Spotify to Apple Music because of this feature I know it may sound silly but it’s a really cool and decent feature so I was wondering if you guys have like an estimated time of adding it or if you guys are just when thinking of adding it. It really shouldn’t be too difficult because Spotify already supports the canvas feature which is animated backgrounds for songs.
