[Desktop] Bring back Lyrics

Allow me to re-edit again, in premise, that thanks to all of you this idea keeps receiving votes, and I am grateful to each of you, and when I expressed this desire as an idea I was a newbie, I owe to the professionality of Marco and Toku, whom I thank again, that I became aware that this idea it’s by no means new, nor even mine but Spotify’s, yet it is properly expressed, and it is shared by enough Community members for it to be still alive, and I agree with Arcanscape that, "We really need the lyrics feature", and I just notice an excellent temporary alternative of “SpotifyLyrics” kindly programmed and provided by Mirth (fr31): https://github.com/fr31/spotifylyrics/releases (via scoobyTdog), it works very well on my Pc 🙂 and I invite you all to try it.

Whilst singing might be fun, I have another approach to lyrics and sound, which is of course not mutually exclusive, and I read the words to see if I like them as I enjoy the melody, if I see myself in the lyrics, if I share the values expressed, and this is easier by having the words at hand.

So please Spotify bring back the Lyrics Feature most elegantly -- as you did with restyling the Community -- when you find a better Lyrics Provider.

Reading and listening might be even better than karaoke, although not as fun 😉

and every member could always do both, even just singing, as a very close person in my family does, and many other people do.

Bring it back please !

This feature was so great. Lyrics can be hard to get, even when they are in your native language and humming is just not the same.

I just did not like the fact that you had to connect through facebook or something only to sync lyrics. Now that I realize it was an external service, it makes sense.

Come On Spotify, Kiss and make up with MusixMatch.  Think of all the misheard/missung lyrics.

Aw, just like you I was totally bummed about the lyrics feature going away from the desktop app.

BUT. we must wait and see what Spotify has in store for us, we just need to be a little patient.

Can't wait to sing my lungs out once again !

I have Music Match on my other devices, but on my Laptop It's thru spotify. I'm really tired of seeing, Humming is fun. It's been weeks and I'm getting a little ticked off. If it is not resolved soon I will cancel my premium membership and find something else.

P.S. As a related non-verified suggestion I advance just to try and give something in return, for a temporary solution for Community members who might be hungry and angry, is to consider availing of the first of the two “Best Free Online Lyric Finder and Resource”, I have found surfing by serendipity on “Gizmo's Freeware”  (www.techsupportalert.com), and that is “LyricWikia”, “a community based and huge resource for finding lyrics in multi languages”. And I allow myself this, simply because the second and only best is MusiXmatch. Sincerely, Marco

When will the lyrics feature return from war?  I cannot believe how much I miss it; part of it is that I'm slightly hard of hearing and I like to know what they're actually singing.  And I guess I just got spoiled with it; anyway just wondering if we have an ETA? 

Aside from that, I have absolutely no complaints; love Spotify muchly.

I'm not hard of hearing, but for some reason I've always had a difficult time understanding what singers are saying in songs. (I think it's because my brain is wired to listen to the melodies first.) Having the correct lyrics available from the Spotify interface would be really valuable to me 🙂
