[Desktop] Select default sound device for Spotify Connect

Currently Spotify defaults to using the default sound device when launched, it would be neat if you could choose which sound device you want to use instead in the options screen.

Thanks

Yes, deffinetly need this, i prefere to play my music over optical link but i dont want common sounds (like skype or desktop) go over there, so deffinetly need ability to set device for music.

Still no sign of this feature being added.

Im a premium member sense the start, and im pretty sure almost all the members that have writed on this topic are premium to. I just guess that the money we pay for this service should be able to go into some updates that accually WE members want.

Get this feature into the update!

Othewise i just recommend all the premium members that read this to stop paying for the premium and just downgrade to free account again to make Spotify understand that they need to get this into an update.

This is ridiculous! I immediately discontinued my premium, after realizing that the desktop client misses that feature! No chance to root music only to my amplifier. This is very poor software design, I'm afraid.

For people on a Mac, you can use Rogue Amoeba's Audio Hijack application for this. Had this kicking around on my Mac anyway as I use it to grab audio from all kinds of application as sample fodder. Audio Hijack simply let's you set up the Spotify Client (or any app or web page on your Mac) as the audio source. I then directly route the audio to my audio interface, which shows up under "output devices" in Audio Hijack. Works perfectly. Give it a try with the free version of Audio Hijack to verify it works with your specific setup. The paid version of Audio Hijack is more than worth it!

This is so badly needed... and now that I can't use equalify if feel forced to stop paying for this and find something new.... it really bothers me.

Throwing in my vote here too.  I would very much like to be able to specify which audio device the spotify application is using rather then having it stuck to the 'default' device in Windows and Linux.  I would also like to point out that I prefer not to use a 3rd party application such os VAC or Equalify to accomplish this one goal.  Thank you for taking the time to consider our request.

Great idea - makes Spotify usable on my MacMini being used as a HTPC.

Needed for OS X as well as Windows.

If I find another streaming service support this requirement I will seriously consider swapping to that one although I like Spotify.

Let us please change Audio Output... This can't be so hard to enable -.-

I can'nt believe this sh.it. Really.

Since a few years is the community bagging for this elemental feature.

And all you guys say is **bleep** you.

Then you bring an update that BREAKES the only thing that can fix this issue "equalify" and tell the community with this manner **bleep** you again.

Do you know what Spotify **bleep** yourself.

It's my last month of premium

HearMyLoud

i have a fix my people fear no more

Guys There is another workaround since the new spotify broke equalify...

Uninstall spotify and equalify
1. Download and install an older version  http://spotify.en.uptodown.com/ (Scroll Down till you see Previous Version and Click Ver 0.9.15.27
2. Since equalify does not let you download from their site here is a link to the latest stable version: http://equalify.en.uptodown.com/
3. Go https://community.spotify.com/t5/Help-Desktop-Linux-Mac-and/Horrible-update-0-8-8/m-p/280204/highlig... follow those instructions this will stop your spotify from updating itself

AND You're Done!!!

You're Welcome!! Enjoy
