Discovery level in personalized playlists

I would love to have a Discovery level option on Spotify.

Currently most of the songs on Daily Mixes or Autoplay are songs that I already liked. This is great but sometimes I am under the impression that the same songs are always shown to me and I wish to have the option to adjust the Discovery level, for example:

- High: high discovery would show more unknown songs that I could like, let's say around 70 percent of unknown songs and 30 percent liked ones.

- Normal: around 50% of liked/unknown songs.

- Low: this seem to be the current way Spotify works, showing around 70 or 80 percent of liked songs.

The new "Discovery level" option would influence Daily Mixes, Autoplay and Radio stations once defined by the user. The default option would be how things work today, but it would be very helpful give the users an option to define if they would like to discover more music.

I hope you may consider this idea and hopefully implement it soon.

Basically my idea is when you click on the 3 dots in the corner when in a song, (on phone) is that when you scroll down through all the options there’ll be a a ‘more like this’ or ‘suggested songs like this’ and it’ll filter songs similar to the vibe/genre/lyricism of the song and isn’t just the same artist, and like it’ll create a playlist for it. Because Netflix has a ‘more like this’ tab and it’d be cool to have it for songs because then you can find a similar vibe that isn’t the same songs you already frequent. It’s also easier or cool if it’s in the extra 3 dots because it’d still be out of the way! thank u got reading

I think that more personalised mixes should be added to expand the variety of music that the user can listen to. For example if the user is in the mood for cooking or baking then spotify can make a personalised mix with music that the user currently listens to and new music related to the mood the user is in and what they listen to. This could also happen for gaming or for family/friends meetings or for walking alone or with people. In my opinion this will expand the music and genres that the user can explore and find out what they and what they don't.

I just want to send feedback to someone at Spotify that my recommendations are over-fitting. Every single play list is the same artists, songs, sometimes just the same song by a different artist. It’s making me NUTS. I just want to listen to something different & I can’t. This is such a frustrating experience that I barely want to use the product any more.

Please add a feedback form some where so your product team can get better insights.

Even just a way to turn off the personalization when you want. It’s frustrating when I’m looking to listen to something different but even the playlists in the search section made by spotify are curated to what I’ve recently been listening to. Even if they’ve just put songs I have saved at the top and songs I don’t know towards the bottom it’s annoying. If I want to listen to music I know I’ll play my own playlists.

Is there any update on this or way to personalize playlists or when a radio station is made?

All of my playlists seem to be over-personalised. For example, the intersection between "Rock classics" (which should be somewhat agnostic to my preferences) and "Rock mix" is very large, so much so that it becomes to find songs in either playlist that I have not already listened to very recently (or many times before).

Allowing a little more exploration through these sorts of playlists and song radio would be a nicer experience. Maybe the user could specify in settings how much deviation they would like in their recommendations.

Bumping this thread. I used to love spotify radio stations for finding new music related to a song I like but now it just feels like their algorithm infrastructure is a random number generator that selects from the last ~100 songs I've listened to. Just today I went to 'Big Dawgs' by humankind radio to find more rap music with a similar beat but the next suggested song on the radio was 'Slow it Down' by Bensen Boone. In what world would those two songs be in the same genre? Been having to keep an apple music subscription on the side just so I can use their radio to find more music.

PLEASE FIX THIS SPOTIFY

All I want is a slider that increases or decreases the "discovery" level on any given spotify platlist.

I really dislike it when I know most of the songs in a list that spotify makes. "music picked just for you" is great when it's new, not when it's the same things I listened to yesterday.

I'm excited to follow this feature request, it would really transform spotify for me.

Just allow me to turn off personalization of curated playlists completely! It's that simple, I don't want it.

This idea is way too complicated for what most people actually want: turn off personalization of playlists.

I keep hearing the same 5 artists regardless of genre or playlist, it totally ruined Spotify in the past few years.
