Discovery level in personalized playlists

I would love to have a Discovery level option on Spotify.

Currently most of the songs on Daily Mixes or Autoplay are songs that I already liked. This is great but sometimes I am under the impression that the same songs are always shown to me and I wish to have the option to adjust the Discovery level, for example:

- High: high discovery would show more unknown songs that I could like, let's say around 70 percent of unknown songs and 30 percent liked ones.

- Normal: around 50% of liked/unknown songs.

- Low: this seem to be the current way Spotify works, showing around 70 or 80 percent of liked songs.

The new "Discovery level" option would influence Daily Mixes, Autoplay and Radio stations once defined by the user. The default option would be how things work today, but it would be very helpful give the users an option to define if they would like to discover more music.

I hope you may consider this idea and hopefully implement it soon.

I had to create a Youtube Music account for my Google Assistant to use. Using sleep sounds with my Spotify account for a couple of nights wrecked all of my music preferences and recommendations. It was all focused almost exclusively on ambient sounds for crying out loud! I had no way to reset it except to hit "Hide this song" constantly for weeks just to get my recommendations almost as good as they used to be.

Using a private session in Spotify should disregard anything you play during this time regarding your usual recommendations, also if you are scrobbling to Last.fm. I think the private session ends automatically after a few hours, but don't know how long this takes. And I am not sure if this works for Google Assistant as well.

Why is this idea not more popular? I've just stumbled upon an artist I know nothing about, and I know exactly one of the artists in the "Fans also like"-section. Still, this artist's radio is filled with stuff I already know and listen to over and over because the algorithm keeps on pushing the same things. And no, this is not because I need to listen to more music; last month I played ~1700 songs from 770 different artists so this is not the issue!

Spotify's radio used to be great, until they removed it and replaced it with playlists. Vote here to get it back: https://community.spotify.com/t5/Live-Ideas/Bring-back-Endless-Radio/idi-p/4665568/page/5#comments

Also this function should be available as a 'new songs only' radio or even a 'discover radio' that leverages the discover weekly algorithm but of course with more than 30 songs.

I love the idea of using Radio for music discovery based on an artist or a small playlist of songs I created, but the repetition makes spotify radio stations absolutely unusable for me.   I don't want to hear the same 10 songs repeated every few hours or even every day.   I need radio stations to be much much more varied.

I want this too!

Being able to build a radio station from a song so the resulting playlist shares the same beats per minute, time signature, etc would be very cool and much appreciated 🙂

Spotify, please listen to this idea instead of declining it and making it inactive. One of my favorite things to do is discover new music and it is a lot harder to do now than it was before. I loved the old radio where I could find a lot of new music. Or at least make the Discover weekly playlist reloadable if you keep scrolling up like on some other playlist features. Or the idea that dogbaz said in the original inactive posts about this to have a discovery mode toggle switch to have the Radio feature play more songs that we might like but don't already have liked or on a playlist.

Thank you.

Serious problem with the community here. People come in and vote for closed ideas and leave. This problem has gotten over 600 votes in total and nobody cares about it because most of the votes are in closed threads.

Why don't you guys just tell us that you are not going to do it because it's too difficult or you just don't care?

The radio**bleep**, it repeats and repeats and repeats, no matter what you do to start it.

Just try it out. Pick any song, either "start song radio" or drag it to the radio icon in desktop app.

Skip 20 songs and see for yourself, it's the same songs than the last 20 songs were, also almost in the same order. And every time you start a radio from a song or from the same artist, the songlist is exactly the same.

This is fine for the first 10 times, then it becomes a real problem.
