Enhanced Podcast Organization Tools

Overview:
Spotify currently offers a great platform for discovering and listening to podcasts, but managing and organizing them can be challenging for users who follow multiple shows. This feature request proposes a set of tools to improve podcast organization, discovery, and scheduling.

 

Key Features Proposed:

  1. Advanced Search Capabilities

    • Search by Episode Title: Allow users to find specific episodes within a podcast by typing keywords from the title.
    • Search Within Episode Content: Enable searching through transcripts or descriptions to locate episodes that discuss specific topics. Bonus: Enable search in the dialogue in the podcast. Should be fairly straightforward leveraging some of the STT or speech-native models

  2. Podcast Playlists

    • Create Custom Playlists: Similar to music playlists, users should be able to group podcast episodes from different shows into a single playlist. Or create a playlist of podcasts, and describe the order to play the episodes in.

  3. Episode Scheduling

    • Set Listening Times: Let users schedule episodes for specific times or days, integrating with calendar apps for reminders.

  4. Enhanced Library Organization

    • Tags and Categories: Allow users to tag episodes or podcasts for easier sorting (e.g., “Work,” “Fitness,” “News”).
