Free audiobook listening time for all Premium members

While I'm grateful for the move to bring audiobooks to Spotify, the exclusive benefit of free audiobooks for the "plan manager" in duo and family memberships seems unjust. It diminishes the premium experience for other members who pay the same amount as their friends and family but don't enjoy the full premium benefits.

I acknowledge the cost-effectiveness of duo and family memberships, but the solution to a fairer listening experience could be to distribute the 15 hours among all members in your party. This way, duo members, for instance, would get 7.5 hours free—a reasonable compromise for the reduced cost.

It ensures fairness to all users and gives users the option to customise their audiobook time based on their plan size and budget.

My question is, why do audiobooks have to have a listening time limit? You don't see that for podcasts or music so why audiobooks, & why only 15 hours. Most of the books I listen to are well over that, & I have to wait a month before I can resume listening. It's an absolute joke!

This is a cynical confidence trick. They deliberately withhold this information as they know people won't subscribe.

I am the plan manager of our family plan and it’s unfair how the users are not able to access the audiobook options when they are also paying full price. Either give full premium usage to all users or give them a discounted price if they are not able to access full premium subscription features. Respectfully.

well since i cant talk about pricing, subscriptions, or content. How about we just leave it at, allow ALL premium members to use audiobooks. I'm honestly getting impatient and I hate seeing all these closed cases about genuine concerns and Spotify disregarding them due to vague guidelines. It might be time for me to switch 😞

vpatz, as I think Spotify have worked out, there isn't another company that offers this audiobooks feature along with music streaming etc.

Unless you can find one? I'd switch straight away too.

Please allow all members of the family plan to access audiobooks, not just the plan Manger.   Anyone in plan should be able to utilize the 15 hours.

Audiobook access should not be restricted to ‘plan managers’ - everyone is paying for premium, but not receiving the same benefits. Seems to be a very checkbox solution - plan members and plan managers have access to audiobooks

I second this, I think it is a bit much to put a cap on the account manager's hours if paying for premium. Also on top of already spending $10-15 a month on the premium package, they want you to spend $13 on just only 10 additional hours for the audiobooks.

Books should never be blocked from kids accounts, period. I'd much rather have my kids listen to books then watch people play video games on Spotify, get it right Spotify

Agreed! That or allow the family plan manager to select who from the family uses the audiobooks.
