Free audiobook listening time for all Premium members

While I'm grateful for the move to bring audiobooks to Spotify, the exclusive benefit of free audiobooks for the "plan manager" in duo and family memberships seems unjust. It diminishes the premium experience for other members who pay the same amount as their friends and family but don't enjoy the full premium benefits.

I acknowledge the cost-effectiveness of duo and family memberships, but the solution to a fairer listening experience could be to distribute the 15 hours among all members in your party. This way, duo members, for instance, would get 7.5 hours free—a reasonable compromise for the reduced cost.

It ensures fairness to all users and gives users the option to customise their audiobook time based on their plan size and budget.

My partner upgraded his premium to Duo SO I COULD HAVE AUDIOBOOKS.

I DO NOT HAVE AUDIOBOOKS.

100% USELESS EXPENDITURE.

0/10 do not recommend.

Partner will be canceling Duo, I will be renewing my library card and sitting on waitlists for downloads.

Spotify should allow access to the DUO deal and the audio book for both users.

The fact that Spotify requested an account manager, does not mean that the account manager is necesraily the only one paying for the account, therefor, both users under the DUO account should enjoy the access that both are paying for, rather then only the "account manager"

It is both deceptive and nonsensical to advertise a plan whose main feature is dual access, and then not provide equitable access to those services.

"Duo" implies two people can take advantage of the "premium" benefits, but it would be more accurate to name this plan Premium Tiered or Sub-Premium or like 50% Premium LOL Suckers ... I digress. Honestly I've lost all faith in a corporation actually listening to the feedback to its customers and responding appropriately (especially if it means reducing their profits), so I doubt these complaints will be taken on board and result in equitable benefits for the non-Plan Manager. But at the very minimum--and the bar is pretty low here--Spotify should be much more explicit about informing their prospective customers of what benefits they actually have access to, and that this access varies between the two account holders. Their lack of transparency makes it much harder for people to make an informed choice about what they're signing up for. Yeah you can argue its in the fine print or whatever but that doesn't negate the deception, in fact it kind of just confirms their true intentions. We've all read about how Spotify screws musicians, so perhaps it was naive to assume that paying customers were somehow exempt from the same treatment.

So far, this family plan translate as "premium for me, basic for thee" if I'm only one receiving the benefit I'll look into downgrading the family plan to basic and and resub to audible. Seems unfair everyone is in chipping in the same amount and only *I* am getting the full benefit.

Same should be applied to family Premium plans

It recently came to my awareness that my husband has access to Audiobooks for free with our Premium Family Membership, but I do not. Spotify is showing me that I have to pay $20.09 for something that he has access to for free. Because we used his email to sign up, they consider him the plan manager but not me. I think both parents or partners on a family plan should be considered co-plan managers and not just one of them. We should receive equal Premium benefits as the two adults in charge of the Premium plan. The prices have already gone up with Spotify a few times since we first singed up for our family plan and it only makes sense that both parents/partners should have equal rights and benefits. Only providing benefits to one of the adults in charge of the family is a bit sexist and very wrong. Why would my husband be provided benefits on our family plan that I am no provided. That is wrong and not at all okay. I understand if people would need to pay more to give their kids the full access to Audiobooks, but members should not have to do so to make sure their partner gets the same benefits that they do. Also, when you look into the Family Premium Plans, it says that all members of the Family Plan have Premium access. If that does not include Audiobooks for all, I suppose that is understandable. However, it should include both parents/partners/adults on the plan. One parent should not have more benefits than the other. Please fix this issue and make it to where two adults can be appointed as co-plan managers with equal rights and benefits on the plan.

Thank you,

Same with family plan!

I think also if it is a matter of paying an additional (reasonable) amount that would allow for more audiobook hours some people who listen a lot would be open to that. So an extra $5/month to double your audiobook hours or something maybe... either way, making it available to all members on a plan would be very appreciated because the person with the credit card isn't necessarily the person who is most interested in audiobooks.

I would like for Spotify to allow non manager users hearing audiobooks. I have a duo account and my wife sometimes wants to listen to an audiobook while I'm listening a podcast. The whole idea of having duo or family accounts, is for the users to have the same benefits on all accounts.

Thanks,

Gabriel Balderas.

We love the spotify family plan, but as the plan manager I do not listen to audiobooks. I would like to be able to share these hours with my family!
