Group listening comment session

On group listening session, have a comment feature. U can send comments regarding your emotion on the current song playing. Or u can just have a selection of emojis on a bar. Where if u click one it showers the Spotify screen with that emoji, telling people how u feel on the song.

Music sharing happens everywhere, whether it is an Office Teams channel, a friend/family group, or your gym community. It would be nice if there was a feature to form a group and have a collaborative queue where anyone in the group or group owner can add music to the queue.

The collaborative queue is better than a collaborative playlist because one would want to listen to the new music posted in the group rather than have a shuffle mode to listen to a random one or hear the same music again.

It's also better than a playlist because if it's a recommendation from a genre I don't like or if I don't like a song, I don't want that song saved in a playlist. But it would be nice if I had a shortcut to save that song to a playlist (Bonus - Have a private playlist for every individual in that group)

A collaborative queue with information about who added the song to the queue would also enhance the experience because sometimes I know a particular individual's music taste doesn't sync with mine so I can skip it.

This is different from Jam feature as Jam will delete the songs added to the queue once the Jam is stopped.

Also, the collaborative queue improves my productivity because I don't have to click the link on the group and add to the queue. Or I have to generate the song link and share it in my group. I can do everything within Spotify.

This is a feature idea that will improve the music-sharing experience and improve Spotify becoming more social.

AI Summary

Feature Request: Collaborative Queue for Group Music Sharing on Spotify

  1. Group-Based Collaborative Queue:

    • Allow users to form groups (e.g., family, friends, work colleagues) within Spotify.
    • Enable a shared queue where group members can add songs for real-time listening.
  2. Improved Over Collaborative Playlists:

    • Unlike playlists, the collaborative queue allows continuous, updated listening rather than repeating saved songs.
    • No need for shuffle mode; new songs are immediately available, enhancing the listening experience.
  3. Non-Permanent Queue with Easy Save Option:

    • Avoids saving songs directly to a playlist, which can be useful for temporary or experimental recommendations.
    • Include a shortcut for users to save songs they enjoy to a personal playlist (Bonus: Offer private playlists for each group member).
  4. User Attribution on Songs Added:

    • Display who added each song, helping listeners decide on whether to skip based on the known music tastes of specific group members.
  5. Distinct from Jam Feature:

    • Unlike Jam, which clears the queue after ending the session, this collaborative queue would retain songs until manually cleared, making it better suited for group sharing.
  6. Streamlined Sharing and Productivity:

    • Eliminates the need for external link sharing or queue management outside Spotify.
    • Facilitates in-app group music sharing, enhancing productivity and seamless social listening.
  7. Enhanced Social Experience on Spotify:

    • This feature could strengthen Spotify’s social aspect, fostering real-time interaction and discovery among group members through shared music experiences.
