As you navigate roads your journey is not just marked by the passing scenery, but by a blend of music that reflects where you currently are, all curated by the DJ X we already know and love. With Spotify's integration with Waze and Google Maps, the opportunity could exist to curate a seamless auditory experience for every mile traveled.
Here's how it works:
Spotify seamlessly syncs with Waze or Google Maps to retrieve your road trip route. As you embark on your adventure, Spotify becomes your musical co-pilot, selecting songs that correspond with the cities, landmarks, and regions along your journey. With DJ X already making personalized playlists, DJ X takes the wheel ensuring a seamless flow of music tailored to your unique tastes and your current route. As you enter a new state, area, city, DJ X points this out in their introduction: "Hey, it's your DJ X, as you enter into New York State with your destination of Brooklyn, you know Billy Joel is there with you with that New York State of Mind" followed by the Beastie Boys classic, "No Sleep 'Til Brooklyn."
When DJ X doesn't have location based songs to play, they would operate as normal with blocks of recommended music. On the backend - Spotify would be able to identify key songs to feature based on lyrics that it already can pull up via search and popularity of a particular song. I would welcome this to be a rather boundary pushing feature. It could also scan artist bios and feature music from artists as you pass through their home state, city, locales - and DJ X could inform you why certain artists are popping up.
