[Mac] Spotify in Notification Center

It would be cool to get a feature we can turn on to have song changes display in the Notification Center on OS X!

I genuinely can't believe a small feature like this has to even be brought up to vote on. Just chuck it in the options as off by default. All the APIs are there, just seems lazy not to add it.

I dont understand why you wouldnt have this, this is one of the best features for listening to music on my laptop.  I honestly would consider switching to Apple Music as it has this feature and I find it 1000 times easier when listening to new music to see what the song is without having to switch apps.

Toast notifications on track change would be a legit win for the Mac app.

Second best is right-click on the Dock icon including the currently-playing track

I'm sat here right now listening to music from my MacBook but looking over to my Ubuntu desktop whenever a song finishes to check the notification that pops up on that screen. I think it's a bit ridiculous that this feature is missing on only the OS X platform and would greatly appreciate this simple feature being brought over.

I'm not going to install another plugin or application to just to view notifications that I think should already be there in the first place.

5 years after requesting, a simple hook (which someone already wrote) can't be added to the MacOS version.  And frankly, it's probably 2 days of work for a Jr Programmer.  Lazy.

This would be so great. iTunes does this and it's really useful. Spotify needs this so you can keep up with what you're listening to, esspecially as Spotify is so great for finding new music.

I feel like notification for song changes is a no brainer. If people are having to create their own software to implement notifications I think it is clear that this feature needs to be added. Not only, the point of creating software is to constantly be improving upon it, this feature is convienient and would only please individuals especially if you allow users to turn off notifications if they do not want it.

Being able to see currently playing and the playlist (or "next up" list) and having rudimentary control through NC would be adding a huge amount of value for me, too.
