Make Smart Shuffle A Secondary Option

I'm not saying remove Smart Shuffle, or even to add a toggle switch to turn it off.

Just undo whatever was done to make Smart Shuffle the default shuffle mode. We should only listen to Smart Shuffle songs if we deliberately choose to, otherwise the whole concept of a playlist goes out the window. Make it so we have to intentionally turn it on.

Amazing to me that people have been clamoring for over a year for somthing to be done about this egregious annoyance. Does Spotify care about its customers? If we pay for a Premium service we should have Premium-level control over the music we listen to.

The Smart Shuffle icon is too similar to the regular Shuffle icon — especially when small on a UI. Sometimes I have to squint & get closer just to see I'm accidentally on Smart Shuffle.

Apart from UI being poor and this being the default option, I have a feeling that songs that end up on my list are not the songs I would listen to. This is not type of songs that are usually listed in my recommendations below the playlist. This is something completely different and always some popular pop song (thrown in the middle of my Drum n Bass or Jazz or Funk playlist).

There is something fundamentally illogical about the need for this thread: Personal Playlists, are, by definition and practical experience, PERSONAL. There is no world where randomly adding songs to a person's 'personal' playlist is a +. Further, for more than a year and nearly 5,000 posts, a common theme exits—at a bare minimum - place this feature, somewhere else, so people who may want it, can go find it, and everyone else, who curates their own PERSONAL playlists, can continue to enjoy them, unmolested by Spotify alogos. This shouldn't even need to be said or written. I'm dumbfounded by Spotity Mods, PMs and Execs.

There is nothing fundamentally illogical about this feature because Spotify needs you to know that you should be listening to the most popular current thing rather than using the service you paid for.

Spotify team from top to bottom is compliant in scumming you constantly. They will never apologize and make the service better, they will only patchwork it enough to keep it afloat, to continue scumming you.

I wonder if smart shuffle is too important of a value proposition by Spotify to creators, that the developers etc are literally not allowed to turn it off.  There's also the facts that: smart shuffle can be accidently turned on; there are bugs where people can't turn it off; at one point they swapped the order of shuffle and smart shuffle being turned on as you press the button.  It's like a tiny further increase in value to have people accidentally turn it on.

I find Smart Shuffle frustrating, especially as it feels more like a feature designed to push music for revenue purposes rather than enhancing the user experience.

For those of us who are very particular about curating our playlists, having Smart Shuffle as the default is quite annoying. I rarely enjoy the algorithm's recommendations and have to manually disable it every time by pressing the button twice just to get normal shuffle.

While this feature might appeal to users who are more flexible with their music preferences, for those of us with eclectic and specific tastes, it feels intrusive. There should be an option in the settings to permanently turn off Smart Shuffle, as I personally don’t find it useful.
