Make it so that covers for mixes and radio playlists maintain a fixed optimal size

Status: Live Idea
0 Likes

Problem description

When changing the screen size via developer settings (for example, adjusting dp to reduce font and interface size), the cover images of mixes and radio playlists shrink proportionally to the screen width.

This leads to the following negative effects:

Covers become too small and lose visual impact.

The harmonious balance between font size and images is disrupted.

Usability and aesthetic quality of the design decrease.

It is inconvenient for users who want to reduce font size but still see large and clear covers.

Proposal

Make it so that covers for mixes and radio playlists maintain a fixed optimal size, not shrinking proportionally with the screen width reduction when dp changes.

The cover size should be at a maximum or minimally acceptable level to preserve visual quality and usability.

Supporting argument

Recently, Spotify announced and launched the "Upcoming Releases" screen, where album and release covers maintain a fixed size regardless of screen width or dp changes.

This proves that:

Spotify is technically capable of implementing fixed-size covers.

Applying a similar approach to covers of mixes and radio playlists will improve the app’s UX and design.

Benefits for users

Improved visual perception and ease of use of the app.

Ability for users to adjust font and interface size without losing cover image quality.

A more professional and aesthetically pleasing app appearance on all devices and with any settings.
