Make status bar and navigation bar transparent on Android

Currently on the Spotify app, the status bar has a transparent black bar, and the system navigation bar/menu is black. 

I think it would look cleaner if the status bar and system navigation bar were fully transparent like in iOS.

 dburt218  we need 100 upvotes for them to consider this. Your best option is to share this on reddit's spotify communities to get the upvotes. It's so dumb at this point idk why this is even an issue in the first place. Such an annoying issue which they continue to overlook. I hope android forces apps to remove this translucent status bar altogether like they did with the navigation bar. That's our only hope at this point.

Yeah, honestly, it's something about the interface that's really been bothering me and making me uncomfortable. It makes me feel like Spotify doesn't care about its Android users. I hope they get rid of it soon.

There's been numerous posts in the past here on the Spotify Community about this, but there's never any input. Hopefully, one day, though. Can we get the transparent overly as it is already on the iOS app? It'd be something so simple to implement. If the navigation bar at the bottom is transparent, the status bar should be the same. No, readability wouldn't be an issue at all because Android handles that really well. You can obviously see that from looking at the navigation bar itself.

Can we have the status bar made transparent on the Now Playing screen on Android devices? The rest of the UI finally got the transparent status bar, but it still hangs around on the Live Events screen, the Now Playing screen, the Spotify Code scanner, and the credits screen when you're viewing them. The rest of the UI is up to date, but these small bugs make the UI seem so inconsistent. Fixing these issues will make Spotify feel totally complete. 🥲
