Mark / Disable AI Generated Songs

The platform is increasingly flooded with AI-generated songs (especially the Release Radar), making it harder for users to discover authentic, human-created music. To improve the listening experience, Spotify should introduce a clear label for AI-generated songs and provide an option to filter them out entirely.

An AI off button, to make Artificial Intelligence created music unavailable on your Spotify account.

I've been a subscriber to Spotify for an exceptionally long time at this point. I have never really even considered switching services...until today when I navigated into my "customized" playlists and they were full of ai-generated garbage.

I will now be shopping around for alternatives. Give us an option to hide all this junk "music" before it destroys your service.

More of you should directly contact customer support. I'm pretty certain that this will otherwise not get any traction.

It's been great to see everyone's comments and to realize so many feel like me. My big takeaway for all: export your library to another service. Try it out. It's gotten super easy. Yes, there are small bumps in the road, but it's worth it. I imported my library into Deezer about 2 months ago, and I've made the switch, canceled my Spotify plan yesterday since things have only gotten worse in Spotify. So start small, export your library into another service, you can do it.

@Left2Rightz: Sadly not an option here. After Google Music shut down, Spotify is the only streaming service with an officially supported desktop client for Linux left… So I'd rather they get their act together.

No effort has been made by Spotify to address this issue in the past 2 months, cancelled my paid membership today.

I'm agree. it sucks to listen ai generated music

@DASPRiD There is an unofficial linux version of Deezer that seems to work just like the original thing, so it's worth giving it a try, and importing songs from Spotify is done via a web client instead of the app

Now that I've cancelled my paid Spotify account, I'm off in search for a decent alternative... I have never used Deezer before, barely even heard of it until I started posting in these forums, but wow, what they're doing in response to the AI infiltration is just downright amazing.

April 2025: They revealed that AI Music represented nearly 18% of all uploads (~20,000 tracks of AI slop per-day). They immediately started removing fully AI generated content from their algorithmic recommendations.

June 2025: They started flagging albums with AI-generated tracks and detecting "stream manipulation" (AI Thumbprints) and excluding fully AI-generated tracks from royalty payments.

Is it perfect, probably not, but it's a huge step in the right direction. Either way, Spotify should be taking notes.

I really didn't want to leave Spotify after a decade of loyalty, but the last couple of months have been just disgusting with how many AI tracks kept squirming their way into my Weekly/Daily discovery playlists, and then started invading my personal ones through the shuffle feature that somehow kept turning on recommendations no matter how many times I disabled it.

I contacted support again today and they ensured that they'll post an official statement here. I also haven't seen AI slop in the past week or so in my discovery.
