Medical Student Membership

Spotify provides student membership for a maximum of 4 years. Unfortunately, this does not account for 5 year degrees such as Medicine, Dentistry or Veterinary Surgery. From a medical student standpoint, the 5th year is arguably our most difficult year financially as the student loans company reduces our maintenance loan in the last year and therefore, subscriptions such as Spotify become difficult to commit to when the cost is double. 

Personally, I use Spotify every day to listen to podcasts and lecture notes series to help with my exams and also listen to music to help unwind and destress during exam season. 

I would appreciate it if the student membership could be reviewed for extra length degrees such as the named above, so that we can continue to perform well in exams by listening to revision on our commutes.

Hello @Joan,

This thread addresses a similar issue to the one you just closed regarding extended student plans.

My proposed solution would be to re-verify studentship on a yearly basis, instead of using a fixed 4-year limit after initial verification.

If your current verification system doesn't support yearly checks, it may be worth considering the implementation of SheerID or similar services.
