Music comments

Now I hate to use another music platform as an example, but Soundcloud has a feature that allows you to see comments on a song. Why do want this on Spotify? In my personal opinion I think that comments are something that is just nice to see because I like seeing what other peoples thoughts are on a song. Allowing comments would allow a user to see the general public reaction to a song. Example: I like this song, I'm debating whether or not to show it to someone. I check the comments to see what other people have to say about it, if the comments are positive I'm more to likely to listen to the song and share it to others

Cons: Negative feedback and bad spam on certain artists.  fix: block spam, filter certain words, have a message before a user comments saying that you will be banned from commenting if the comment is harsh towards the artist

You could even make a feature that allows the user to turn it on and off if you want to see the comments or not. Like a hide comments button

Let's say you have a playlist with seemingly random songs:

Teenage Wasteland, Teardrop by Massive Attack, etc.

What if you could add comments to each track for you to know where you heard that song? Btw the two tracks above are both from the TV Show "House MD".

Renovatio by Steve Jablonsky is from "The Island" but I heard it on the website for the movie "Ghost Rider".

Stortion by Herbie Clarke: I heard this in a promo for Inu Yasha.

Wouldn't that be cool: reminiscing where you heard the song? I felt it would add a lot of value to our libraries 🙂

I would love it if we could see our own comment history

No no no, I don't support this idea at all. Its a music streaming platform not tiktok plus I don't want to see other peoples comments/conversations about a song. Its very likely people wouldn't use it to discuss music..

While setting up a collaborative playlist with close friends, it would be a great addition to have the functionality to add short written notes to specific songs. An example could be "this song defined Summer 2019 for me, was listening to it non-stop while beach-hopping in the south of Spain". Such details could be enriching for people with access to the playlist.

There needs to be a way to hide or remove the comments when watching a video/podcast. , thanks

This really should be a feature. Comments on playlists should be kept to an absolute minimum, followed very closely by individual songs and podcasts.

Spotify could be more than a music-playing app, it could become a music-lovers community like Letterboxd is for film.

No hyperlinks obviously, and I'm sure they can leverage AI to filter out spam and self-promotion.

There needs to be a comment section on each song, like what other platforms have It makes it alot more interactive, one of the main reasons I like YouTube music, but spotify has a better algorithm.

KingL

Be able to comment on songs, like YouTube music please.

I personally think there is no issue with it. 🙂
