Organize albums, playlists, and artists into folders in Library

I want to be able to sort albums, artists, and playlists into folders within my Library. Tags could work too.  For example, I’d like a “Work” folder where I can put the classical music and lofi albums I’m currently listening to while I work. This would help me organize and narrow down to the different albums and artists I listen to depending on what I’m doing, feeling, etc. Relatedly, I’d love to be able “pin” albums or playlists to the top of my library or homepage - almost to recreate the visor CD holders we all had in our cars back in the day.

My library is very cluttered, and I cannot organise my following artists with folders as they only work with playlists.

Currently, Spotify allows users to organize their playlists into folders, which is a fantastic way to keep things tidy and accessible. However, this organizational feature is not extended to the podcasts or artists that users follow. My suggestion is to enable the ability to organize followed podcasts and artists into folders as well. This enhancement would make it easier to manage and quickly access favorite content.

So much Spotify organization leaves much to be desired !!!

I’d really like to be able to add albums into folders and not have to create playlists for the albums

This would be so helpful!!

Currently, when I find new artists that I want to explore, or if an artist I like drops something new, I download the album or single to listen to it later.

It doesn't need to be downloaded, but this is how I isolate the new music that I want to listen to. If I only like the album or single, it just puts it into the music library, but I need the system to separate these items so I can find them easily and know which I want to explore.

If we could add albums to a folder/collection from our phones, or if there was a separate 'Listen Later' section, I could add these new albums and singles to these instead. This would be a preferable alternative to downloading them, because it takes up so much space on my phone! Spotify is the biggest app on my phone and my phone is so slow as a result!

Same idea! I download a lot of albums and would like to put them into folders I can look through based on activity and mood. Just like our old CD holders. Right now my library is jumbled and hard to pick something if I’m not exactly sure what I want to listen to.

Yes, the lack of folders for albums is frustrating. I want to browse my saved "Light Jazz" or "Death Metal" albums, for example. Both are not my usual thing but when I'm in the mood I have quite specific tastes.

This idea has been asked for and asked for over the years but not implemented. It seems so fundamental and obvious a thing to do, I wonder if Spotify doesn't want us to take too much control of what we listen to. Would rather be telling/recommending things to us.

Yeah I keep all my Christmas music in folders because I don't want it mixed with the normal music, but when I add an album to the folder it gets converted to a playlist. Which is kind of a dumb way of using playlists.

This should be a basic feature. Imagine Spotify managers, we can create a folder of our favorite artists per genre or whatever and then we have a quick access to discover new music of that artist.

The current way albums and artists are implemented into the library just does not work and is a mess. Make the library a collection of Artists, Albums and Playlists that can be organized together into a folder and then keep the filters for Playlists, Albums and Artists so we can hide them whenever we want.

Spotify already allows users to organize playlists into folders, which is a great feature. However, the same level of organization isn't available for followed artists, albums, or podcasts.

Adding a folder system for these would let users group their favorite content by genre, mood, or personal interest. For example, users could create folders like 'Chill Artists', 'Workout Albums', or 'True Crime Podcasts'. This feature would make navigating and rediscovering content much easier, creating a more personalized and streamlined listening experience.

By extending this functionality, Spotify could enhance user satisfaction, encourage more interaction with the 'Follow' and 'Save' features, and make the platform even more appealing compared to competitors. It's a win-win for both users and Spotify!
