Remove the new “Resuming (insert playlist/ song here)“ feature

The feature is not only annoying it’s broken and if you search on Reddit about the new feature you will see it’s very unpopular and I’m not the only one with this complaint.
When you resume playing from Spotify in a car, it has a 3-second A.I. voice saying “Resuming (insert song or playlist.”

Its annoying that you cant just go back to listening to your music, BUT also it turns off shuffle and repeat. So if you were shuffling a playlist or album you have to go back to the app and turn it on again.

If spotify is going to keep this feature it would be great to have a setting to turn it off or on because a lot of people agree its really annoying.

I haven't seen it mentioned yet, but this issue also affects podcasts in the worst way possible. I often que up multiple podcasts and when this resuming voice goes off it just skips the rest of my podcast and begins the next one in que, forcing me to manually go back and try to find where I was up to.

Really poor/broken feature, just give us an option to turn it off.

Not only is hearing the announcement annoying, the fact that this "feature" (not a feature, a deliberately introduced bug, honestly) also turns off shuffle is infuriating. I have to reshuffle and then go through the playlist queue and remove everything that I've already heard. It sucks.

This feature might be acceptable if it had the option to turn it off, and explain the feature to users. Really tone deaf move adding this feature in.

Last time I jumped in my car and connected carplay "the voice" never came to tell me the most obvious thing. Namely that I continued to listen music. Hopefully it´s gone now and I never have to hear it again for the rest of my life. But who knows? Anyone else noticed anything?

KontactMusic

So a little update, I’ve found it doesn’t always happen anymore but I have to connect my phone to the car only as an audio device so hands free doesn’t work, it’s not fool proof but it’s saved me getting irritated a couple times, but point still stands that I shouldn’t have to do that, should connect fully and seamlessly like it used to

This might be the worst feature ever added in any app ever

gavdilli

I don't even understand what the purpose of this feature is.

With Spotify I swear it's like a race to the bottom to add the most regressive features to the app. It's been going downhill for years and none of the clowns who work for this company care.

Nothing better than getting in my car, connecting my phone, and then hearing a voice SCREAM AT ME RESUMING PLAYLIST WITH A REALLY LONG NAME THAT MAKES NO SENSE AND PROVIDES NO VALUE TO THE LISTENING EXPERIENCE ONLY SERVING TO GIVE ME A HEART ATTACK AND INTERRUPT MY MUSIC THANKS REALLY COOL. IF YOU EVER ADD THIS TO THE WEB OR DESKTOP APPS I AM GONE THIS IS INSANE

Please let me disable this, I hate it. It scares me every time. It is unreasonably loud, I want my gangster rap bass to be loud, not an AI voice SCREAMING at me for 5 seconds! EVERY TIME !!! ALSO if I am already listening to a playlist when my phone connects, and then open the app, it will interrupt it !!!! and start playing a DIFFERENT playlist, WHY!?!? Like until I open the app it is playing fine! BUT ONCE I OPEN THE APP, HERE COMES SPOTIFY TO RUIN MY JAM!! I finally find a good "Continue Listening" radio/playlist/queue and now its just gone because **** me. What was that song I was just listening to? NO CLUE IT HAS NO MEMORY OF ME EVER LISTENING TO ANYTHING ELSE ITS GONE WHY WHY WHY WHY WHY WHY WHY WHY WHY WHY ?

Sometimes it's just truly mind-boggling what kind of features get implemented into an app. Spotify didn't just drop the ball they rolled it into the gutter
