Removing items from Recently Played history

I would also like it if we had the option to remove our recently played history because sometimes I would listen to someone's playlist, an artist, or one of my own playlists by accident and I don't really listen to the playlist or artist anymore or I already have a song by that artist and it doesn't make sense to keep it in my library or recently played history.

Why is this "feature" so difficult to accomplish Spotify? I search for a genre, listen to a playlist, and realize that this is not what I'm looking for but, alas, I have all of those unwanted playlists on my recently listened to and have no way of removing. The only option is to entirely eliminate that genre and your search engine is so basic that it can't figure out that I just don't want to listen to that particular playlist not to eliminate that entire genre, so I'm left with tons of unwanted recently listened to playlists on my account.

I cannot believe we are almost 2025 and this feature has been requested from 2019.
It is one of the most if not the most upvoted feature and still we are waiting?

Ieven though I have been a huge spotify fan for many years, 'm going to close my account now because it is ridiculous that I cant remove a played item from my list.   Someone else used my phone and played tracks in my account that now shows in my history and its annoying to be displayed in my car and on my phone when its not my selection.  So much for showing Spotify to anyone and letting them play with it.  Now they are going to lose me and my friend.

I mean yall gotta add this as an option, so simple. Too many times there’s a song that comes up that I don’t want/need there anymore

Currently Spotify tells you it is impossible to delete something and you should have started a private session. But we are not perfect humans that always remember to turn that on. The current situation is too harsh. For example: you might be listening to wedding podcasts to prepare for your proposal, but now when your partner puts Spotify on the TV they can immediately see what you recently listened to and the surprise is ruined. Or they see it on the widget on your iPhone which shows recents. Or you are learning to sing and want to surprise someone. If they happen to sit in your car, Apple CarPlay or Android Auto will give it away immediately. Please be more forgiving towards your users, Spotify.

Id like a way to clear and delete browsing history for privacy concerns. This could be just all data or only ‘recently played’ data. Ideally both.
