Removing items from Recently Played history

I would also like it if we had the option to remove our recently played history because sometimes I would listen to someone's playlist, an artist, or one of my own playlists by accident and I don't really listen to the playlist or artist anymore or I already have a song by that artist and it doesn't make sense to keep it in my library or recently played history.

We have a feature called Listening History, it would be an amazing idea to edit (remove, delete) any album or song we do not want to be shown there.

I can't delete my listening history from both my mobile phone and from my desktop .

  • It may happen that for some reason someone clicks on a song, audiobook or podcast that they don't like so much, and soon after, one of these items always appears on the homepage like a curse, in addition to harming the algorithm's recommendations.
  • Therefore, this option to objectively delete the history can save many profiles that want to stay organized and clean.

5 years, 6 months, 16 days, 14 hours and 49 minutes have passed and this MUST-HAVE functionality has still not been implemented, what are devs at Spotify doing anyway?

Spotify is amazing!

They've managed to make a big change to the recently played, and completely ignored this core issue that's been around for years!  It takes skills to be this ignorant.

How is this basic functionality not available on Spotify?  As a paid subscriber, I should be able to edit my listening history.  There are hundreds of comments here requesting that feature.  I was shocked to learn today that it's not possible.  Please, stop ignoring this feedback from the Spotify community.

We need to have the ability to remove songs from our listening history, if we so choose.

I was recently hacked & I have all of these inferior rubbish songs on my on-repeat playlist. The algorithm is supposed to be made for each users music preferences and we should be able to say "Hey, I didn't listen to that and I don't want to hear it again!"

It's been 84 years... and still we don't have this basic functionality.  There are 41 pages of requests here and a dozen use cases.

Mine is simple - like many others, home assistant often goes screwy and plays stuff on my account by default. Which makes all this functionality and stuff like Spotify Unwrapped pointless.  "Pop Princess Who Shall Not Be Named" was in my top 5 artists one year, FGS because of my kids.  I have had to manually block said artists.

What's really messed up is the fact that this isn't under the ideas being considered even though it has over 4k votes. There are only 7 being considered and 3 out of the 7 have UNDER 1k votes...Heck one of them only has 50 votes!

Change your filter under "Live Ideas" to "Under Consideration" and you'll see what I mean. Big Crock.

Oh boy, now this issue is really pissing me off.

As I mentioned previously, because of the severely lacking *basic security features*, my account was compromised. The person listened to 3-4 reggaeton songs, a genre I have never nor will ever have any interest in, and now it's absolutely wrecking all my generated playlists.

I had a full Daylist that was exclusively that **bleep** because it said I love to listen to it in the morning. I use Daylist as a wakeup playlist for my alarm clock and boy was it a bad start to the day to be blasted with music that you can't stand.

Anyone have a suggestion for an alternate streaming service they like? 4 years to address a simple issue with - feedback is absolutely insane.
