Share listening to friend activity when listening via Spotify Connect e.g. Sonos speakers

Currently friends activity (and by extension, scrobbling) is not available when listening to music using Spotify integrations with smart speakers, such as Sonos.

This is not a bug, as specified in a few forum posts (such as here and here) however seems like an oversight; why would I not want to see what my friend is listening to when they are at home? And why would I not want to share my listening when listening through my speakers at home?

I'd like music being played via Spotify Connect to be broadcast on friend activity.
My account knows what I'm listening too, maybe activity could be broadcast from the account?

As more people leverage Spotify integrated smart speakers, and work from home,(not to mention the change to opt-in), the social aspect of friend activity is at risk of become redundant which would be a real shame.
