Shuffle Multiple Playlists at Once

I’d love the ability to select and shuffle multiple playlists at the same time without having to manually combine them into one new playlist.

Currently, the only workaround is to create a new playlist and add all the songs from the desired playlists into it, then hit shuffle. This is time-consuming and clutters your library with temporary playlists.

This feature would be especially useful in social settings (like parties or gatherings), where I might want to blend the vibes of a few different playlists—without creating a new one each time. It would allow for a more dynamic and spontaneous listening experience.

A simple UI solution could be:

  • A checkbox system in the playlist view to select multiple playlists.

  • Then, a "Shuffle All Selected" button.

Would love to see this feature added!

This would be extremely useful for multi-lingual and cross genre listeners!!!

This would be cool, but you know what would be better, if you add all the songs you love to listen to in a playlist and just listen to that.

Create a playlist folder, add the playlists you want to shuffle together to the folder, click on the folder icon (should change to play button) and it will shuffle all the songs on the playlists in the folder (Desktop only i think though)

This way you don't have to create temp playlists, just add or remove the playlist you want from the folder.

Yes, you can shuffle through multiple playlists in a folder in the desktop version, but would love the ability to do this from the app.

I was literally thinking this today and I KNEW I wasn't the only one.

Some days you just don't want to be locked into one of your playlists and want to bounce between a handful. I, myself, am very organized in my playlist making by separating genres which means, if I want to go to another genre, I have to go to another playlist. I know this is absolutely a first world problem and can be done with creating a new playlist but that takes time and effort which I've already used creating my genre specific ones; I'd rather not start all over.

I like your check box system suggestion, it would be the easiest way to accomplish it for sure. If they would rather stick to the playlist creation, they could still use the playlist selection, then have a box where you enter how many tracks you want it to compile, in total, into the new playlist from the others OR have a drop-down menu where you select the amount of tracks (50,100, 200, 500 tracks). Finally, when you hit 'create', it would compile X amount of tracks from each playlist into one playlist (can be temporary or permanent depending on user's preference). A stipulation I'd like to make is, I would want there to be a close to even balance of tracks being pulled from each playlist. That way it doesn't overload with tracks from one playlist because it has 1000 tracks vs the other playlists with say ~500.

In theory it would be a simple set up, but with programming, there's always a hoop or 5 you have to jump through for everything to jive together.

Please, Spotify, help us eclectic users out!
