Song Control via the App Edge

The Spotify app is outlined by a green glowing line that visualizes the progress of the current song. At the start, only a short segment of the line is visible. As the song continues, the line gradually extends further around the app’s edge.

By holding a finger on the line and moving it along the edge, users can scrub through the track – forwards or backwards – without relying on sliders or additional buttons.

The line appears only when a song is actively playing. It remains subtle and unobtrusive, ensuring that Spotify’s design language is preserved. This allows music to be controlled directly and naturally – even without opening the full player view.
