Stop desktop graphics from using so much CPU/GPU

Hello, when starting Spotify on Desktop (which it does automatically), if the PC/laptop either has no internet connection or Spotify is set to offline, the graphics (where it would usually show album covers etc) are replaced with a grey graphic to indicate it is trying to load something (the graphic has a simple left to right repeating animation to it).

When offline these graphics continue to show, but use an crazy amount of processing power for some reason. So much so that my laptop fans have to switch on full blast.(Its a powerful gaming laptop so the graphics must be very inefficient if that is what is causing the issue). I have to close Spotify, and the CPU/GPU usage goes from 50% to around 2% usage instantly.

It would be good to either remove the graphics, or replace them with something less CPU/GPU intense. Thanks
