The ♡ Heart button AND! a (+) Plus button

In March 2023, the ♡ Heart button will start being replaced with a (+) Plus button for saving things to Your Library. Things that have been saved to Your Library will now show a green ✔ Check icon instead of a green Heart icon.

While the new (+) button is quite useful to know if a song is added to your library, many users loved to see a heart icon ♡ on their favorite songs.

Currently, to add a song to your favorites (♡) you have to click on the (+) button and add it to your favorites! It's very confusing, and it took away from seeing a lovely heart next to your favorite songs. 😞

My idea is for users to have both buttons.

The (+) button to let users know that your songs are added in their libraries.
And the ♡ button so users can directly add their songs to their favorites!

Both buttons would work very well, and would be very intuitive for users.

So I love to listen on music every day but when I want to make the best playlist ever I need to press several buttons to add to a specific playlist but so I got an idea to make «add to favorites» button as an «choose which playlist do you want to add this song to» button, so when you hold in that button, a window pops up with all of your playlists or just which you schoose and then just drag over to your playlist or just click on your playlist. I hope people agree with me 🙏🙏🙏🙏

Get everyone you know to upvote this. Someone from CS/Product needs to understand the two buttons aren't mutually exclusive—you can have both.

Give back the plus button to locked screen on mobile instead of add to Playlist. We can not get songs to favorites short way. For me it's horrible. Thanks.

I'm still so outraged every time I want to like songs in Spotify, searching for the like button... 

So when I hear about a new album coming out, I add it to a playlist "New albums 2025" so that I can remember to listen to it later. I don't want it to be in my library as I don't know yet if I like it or not... then I listen to it and while listeneing, notice a few songs that I really like and want to add to my liked songs. This is not as easy as before with the like button but is still possible to do but with one extra click each time...

Then a few days later, I go back to that album and would like to quickly see what are my favourites songs from it to maybe add them in another playlist, and guess what? All the songs have the green check on them because they're already in a playlist! There's no way to make a difference between what I like and what is in a playlist! This is so bad UX design, it makes me frustrated every time, especially knowing that it used to be perfect the way it was designed before!

As much as I've been a loyal customer of Spotify for years, there's gonna be a day when I'll just rage quit and go to another platorm, especially if they dare to raise their prices again!
