The ability to disable the Jam function.

Ok so Jam function seems incredibly odd to begin with, but I suppose in a rare instance where you want to listen to love songs with someone who's far away at the exact same time, or you're running a silent Disco, there might be a use for it for a very small number of people.

But there should be an option to disable it in your settings. Let's start with the hypothetical scenario that I don't want to run into: A crazy ex or a stalker trying to send me their sad playlist everyday. Also, and possibly more frustrating, is the automatic prompt that comes of when you and another person listening to Spotify are on the same Wi-Fi. Why am I being sent an unprompted question without an invitation from another user in my home or business if I would like to join and listen to exactly what they're listening to at the same time. If I happen to want that, would I not just play the music aloud? We obviously already started listening to what we want to listen to on our own devices by ourselves, so why would I suddenly want to listen to exactly what they want to listen to?  Automatically searching for users on the same Wi-Fi seems crazy intrusive to me what if we're on a public Wi-Fi at a mall? How many prompts would you'd be receiving to join? Anyway I don't mind if this crazy feature (that I'm willing to bet a Year's membership that under 5% of users use monthly) stays on the app,  I just want the ability to turn it off so it doesn't bother me while I'm listening to music by myself.

Jam should be opt in by default. It shouldn’t be automatically enabled. It’s such a bizarre feature.

Give us the option to fully DISABLE jams. I don’t want to start a jam because I connected to a Bluetooth speaker. I don’t want to start a jam in my CAR.

I will NEVER use the feature, so give us an option to turn it off completely.

In Apple CarPlay, it blocks a portion of the queue screen, EVEN WHEN I HAVE NOT STARTED A JAM. I like to be able to see the queue for a quick glance over to see what’s next and decide whether or not to skip ahead using the controls on my steering wheel. The user interface for the jams feature is not well designed.

Not everyone wants this feature, so developers need to keep that in mind too. Just do a quick google search or dive into Reddit. There are multiple posts complaining about the feature. By all means, keep it, but the developers need to also allow people to fully disable and remove it from view when we DON’T want it.

Many new features that Spotify adds in are not something everyone wants to use. The ability to toggle on/off to disable features we don’t intend to use so they are not visible in our apps is something that needs to be added. Jams automatically start just because you hook up to a Bluetooth speaker - does nobody see the problems with that? Jams in a car add additional distractions - again that’s a major issue.

Please please PLEASE allow us to disable  Jam. It randomly pops up when I FaceTime people and will not turn off whether I close the app or end SharePlay! I cannot hear my calls!

This membership is far too expensive to be giving us issues like this.

I second this big time! I work at a bar and people who are on our wifi have the option the join the jam and play their music. It’s really messed up the vibe and I’m not running a jukebox on my shift.

What even convinced anyone that this was a good idea? it's great for parties, sure, if it's that kind of party. But most of us don't live at parties all the time. If I'm studying in the library or working at a coffeeshop or AT WORK, I should be able to listen to my focus music without being interrupted by notifications or someone changing my music. Take a listen to people, spotify, and let it be an opt-in feature. Or at least give the option to opt out. Do better.

I know there are, or seem to be, people who think it's great. But even a few people who really don't want it should be sufficient to make it possible to turn it off.

The worst part about this feature is that the person on the other end doesn’t have to accept the jam invitation. If the jam feature is on someone can just join and switch your music, this is very frustrating at school.

This is a really disruptive feature and kind of buggy. I can’t listen to my music on public transit without some rando spamming me with jam requests. Despite my efforts to select “not now”, I’ll get annoyingly repeatedly spammed until I move far away. It’s really awful and I can’t believe there’s no “disable” or “block” button for these types of requests. It’s enough to make me consider getting rid of my subscription to Spotify - why have this account when I can’t even enjoy my music without being randomly spammed by people in the public?

I hate this because my son thinks it's funny to take over the session when I'm streaming through our house speakers. One minute I'm listening to Jeremy by Pearl Jam. Next thing I know, Fart Sounds - Over 1000 Farts (1 Hour) by Fart Fest is blasting through the system.

I don't mind the idea of having a Jam Session. I've actually used it a couple of times. But, that should be something that the user specifically enables for that session only.
