already listened check

would be nice to have a way to know if you already listened to an album, like a check or mark of some sort, or even individual songs

Plays count next to songs/albums would suffice

This would be great for audiobooks. I listen to several audio books every week and it's not easy to remember all of them over time.

This feature really needs adding for such a simple feature, time & time again I forget what albums I have listened to, especially if they are older albums, or I'm going back listening to old albums from an artist. Also gets very confusing when artists release a (deluxe or extended) album of the same album.

So a simple tick or some sort of marker on albums to say I've listened to it.

Currently I'm having to keep track of what albums I've listened to on my iPhone notes, not cool.

Also sorting or filtering playlists by how many times listened (last week / month / year / total) would be very helpful.

SYLARK

As a DJ who scrolls through literally thousands of tracks per month searching for music, most tracks are skipped within several seconds whilst looking for the right sound. It's impossible to keep track of what has been listened to, not knowing if you're searching through the same tracks that were rejected by myself in previous searches. An extremely simple solution is to have a feature that simply marks it as listened to for visual reference. No need for anything else, such as a list of listened to tracks, just a visual identification marker.

From now on, to ensure I don't listen to unwanted tracks more than once, I will mark all listened to tracks as liked, then add wanted tracks to a playlist. By doing this I immediately avoid repeated tracks by seeing the green tick. The liked list that is created is irrelevant, as I won't use it. Only the desired playlist.

If anyone knows of a simpler solution, add your comments in this thread. Hopefully Spotify will add this marked as listed to feature, a very basic function that has been overlooked.

*Spotify currently displays a progress indicator for podcasts, but not for albums or music tracks—adding this feature to music could greatly enhance the listening experience.

Description:

  • Display a music note icon on song cards that have been listened to.
  • For playlists/albums, show a progress indicator (e.g., "3/12 tracks listened").
  • Allow sorting playlists/albums by tracks listened to (or not listened to).

Use Case:
This helps users discover new music and keep track of what they've already heard. For example, with playlists like "New Music Friday" that update weekly, it's easy to lose track of which songs have been played. Identifiers for listened tracks and a progress bar for playlists/albums would make it easier to explore and revisit new music.

Benefits:

  • Easier discovery of new songs, artists, and playlists.
  • Quickly see which tracks/albums are new or unfinished.
  • Improved user experience for playlists that update frequently.
