AI Generated music should be dealt with differently

I typed "instrumental reggae" and I came across this album, all songs generated by AI, I clicked on the artist page, all the images and artwork generated by AI as well, possibly even the bio text. It was generic and soulless music  there, it was a VERIFIED artist page and they had a few thousand plays for each song... I mean, what is that? Shouldn´t content like that be at least put in a different category / section of Spotify? I don´t believe the possibility of having this type of content banned is a realistic thing, but treating real musicians, singers, singer songwriters, etc, the same way as people who don´t do anything but generate AI content like that is very offensive, I´d like to hear people talking about this so I can be more hopeful about this disaster scenario.

Hi @Mauriciomira, I hope you're doing well and having a great week.

I don't like this situation either but as listeners, each one of us has the right to choose what to listen to, if you care for music or artists, I find it difficult to believe that you select "an artist" like the one you're talking about.

I know, they, can get streams but, what can you do? Talking about me, I'll keep streaming the music that enjoy!

All the best!!!

I wish there was a badge that was a different colour if they are an AI artist that is verified, like a disclaimer next to the music so it can be distinguished from AI to human-made music lol.

Keep blocking soul-less AI noise to prevent your generated playlists from being diluted before the decade is out.

AI-generated music raises unique challenges and opportunities that require a tailored approach compared to traditional music creation. As explored in  issues like copyright, authenticity, and ethical use demand new frameworks to balance innovation with fairness for human artists. The rapid evolution of AI tools necessitates clear guidelines to ensure creative integrity and proper attribution in the music industry.

Thanks for sharing this information.

When it comes to AI in music, many people claim it’s just a tool meant to help humans, but that’s simply not the case here. In this situation, AI completely replaces the human creator. It’s not assisting the person, it’s acting instead of them. The human isn’t actually making music anymore — they’re just playing around with an AI system that does all the work.

A platform like Spotify supports and pays people who "cheat" and use AI platforms to generate "musical" content. Respect for real music creators has disappeared, what a shame.

Anyone with 100 dollars for Suno and another 20 for a distributor can now instantly become an “artist” and release dozens of singles every month. This turns regular listeners into “artists” even if they have no basic understanding of music, tone, chords, instruments, or audio production. If platforms become flooded with this kind of content, who will remain a listener, and who will Spotify actually earn from? This model harms the entire ecosystem.

Suno needs to be restricted in several ways, and distributors should also have clear rules, similar to how cover songs are regulated. Right now, everyone profits from AI “artists”: Spotify takes its commission from royalties, Suno collects subscription fees, and distributors collect their subscription fees as well. That’s why no one is reacting. The ones who lose are real artists and real listeners, the people who actually form the foundation of the entire industry. This needs to stop.
