Chris Rea song Texas

I had added the Chris Rea song Texas from the Road to **bleep** album a while ago. Recently (not sure exactly when) the song was replaced with another song also by Chris Rea also called Texas. This version was from the Water Sign album. Now that seems to be the only version of the song that is available on Spotify. When can the correct song be put back on Spotify for the Road to **bleep** album! And why did you replace my previous version?

Same here! I was playing through this album,.and suddenly Texas comes on - and it's nothing like the song I know and love from that album!!

Thanks! I am now chatting with a real person at Spotify and they are looking into it. I will post an update if they resolve it.

Thanks for asking this question, I tried working through the chat bot to see if they would look into as well.  That didnt seem to drill down to the exact issue though, so I came here.  It seemed to happen a month or two ago.   Glad to here that you are on it!

Hey all! Just thought I would let you know that the agent I was chatting with created a ticket and sent it to the "content team". She said that they would contact me. So far I haven't heard anything but will post an update when/if I do. 

Another odd thing I noticed with these songs is that the audio that plays for the song on the Water Sign and Road to **Bleep** albums are the same and it is the Water Sign version. HOWEVER, the lyrics on both albums are the lyrics from the Road to **Bleep** album so the audio and lyrics don't match on the song played. I did point that out to the agent as well. 

Also as FYI. As Leechman73 noted, I also tried the chat bot first and it got me no where. So I just asked the bot if I could chat with a real person and it directed me to an agent! So if you ever use the chat bot and get frustrated, just try that! 

I do wonder how many others out there in Spotify land have noticed this? I can't wait for it to be resolved as I love that song!!

I also reported this issue. Pretty frustrating. I see the problem Chris Rea has two different songs with the same title, but it looks like Spotify deleted one of the files.. Hopefully they have a backup, I have the CD. I can send.

Hey everyone - looks like the road to **bleep** version was fixed, however; how the water signs version is playing the road to **bleep** version. I loved the water signs version - anyway we can get it so that the road to **bleep** version and the water signs version both play the right song? This is super annoying.

Yes I have been noticing it. I was going to switch off of Spotify because of this but then realized all other services have removed it (Pandora, Prime, Apple, etc.). Do you have any idea why this song was removed? I have been googling trying to find out why.

Really annoying. I had the original song and it was part of my Spotify top songs of 2023. Now it's replaced by this other totally underwhelming track. Ugh.

Agreed! I LOVED the original song. This version is very underwhelming as you state! I really wonder why it has been removed from all streaming services? I suspect legal/royalty issues but I am not finding any articles on the web - so no idea. Hopefully someone will reveal the reason sooner or later. Totally disappointed in Spotify customer service on this too. They acknowledged the problem but kept saying it would be fixed. Obviously not happening anytime soon if everyone has had to remove it. They also still keep the lyrics to the old version with the new song...just wrong... Fortunately, I bought it on CD a long time ago so going to try and add it to my playlist from that...except I don't have a CD player any longer!!! Yikes...how things change fast!!

Just checked again and the RIGHT Texas song is back on Spotify !! Its on the compilation “The road to **bleep**”. Indeed great news !

Hi @Hjulbenet0404....unfortunately, I am not hearing the correct song? I have tried searching for the album and the individual song and both are still playing the Water Signs version. Can you share a direct link to the song that you have found that is the correct version?

Same here it is one of my favorite songs from Chris, its not the song from the road to **bleep** album like it says it's suppose to be.

I just checked and the deluxe edition (2019) of the album includes the correct track, so that's good news at least.
