Hello people, I am kingofdanerds. I am an avid listener on Spotify. I like listening to all kinds of rock. I typically choose a band/artist and listen to all of their music. I mostly listen to 90's rock but I don't mind listening outside of the 90's.
Some bands that I already listened to are
-Green Day
-Nirvana
-The Cranberries
-Matchbox Twenty
-R.E.M.
-Oasis
-Guns N' Roses
-Foo Fighters
Some groups that I plan on listening to
-The Goo Goo Dolls
-Alice In Chains
-Stone Temple Pilots
-Gin Blossoms
-Blind Melon
I can't wait to see what recommendations you all have!
Some of my favorite rock bands include Elder, Weedpecker, Causa Sui, King Buffalo, Naxatras, Somali Yacht Club, Colour Haze, The Re-Stoned, Spaceslug, My Sleeping Karma, and Dead Meadow. These bands are in the stoner rock and psychedelic rock subgenres, and are newer groups; I thought I'd share in case you like one of them, though

This is not a copy and paste list. I have listened to all of these bands.
I also have a playlist that covers like 5 decades of rock and rock sub-genres, spanning from the 60 to the 2000's. Currently there are 458 songs, and every single song is by a different artist, so you don't have to worry about repeats.

Top of my current list of recommended artists would be;
Ghost
These bands also have some cool songs among their catalogue too...
Metallica
Defones
Tool
Pearl Jam
Type O Negative
You should definitely check out:
Van Halen (There's some good stuff in the "Van Hagar" era, but the best era is the Dave era, which is before the 5150 album.)
Start with the debut album, in order.
Some classic songs on other albums of theirs are:
Panama
Jump
Unchained
Iron Maiden (The best years are the Bruce eras, but the others singers were good, too.)
You should work your way up to these songs:
Hallowed Be Thy Name
The Trooper
Fear of the Dark (live- Rock in Rio 2001)
Rime of the Ancient Mariner (live)
My favorite album if theirs is "Somewhere In Time".
Absolutely agree with those who suggest you Alice in Chains but also Sublime, Mad Season and Them Crooked Vultures
