I want to hear music from your suburb, town, city or country. Tell us about thriving scenes that we ought to know about. This could be great!
I could talk about Melbourne music forever but here's a classic from 2014. Basically a modern Melbourne rock anthem.

Show me what you've got! It can be anything: recent, underground, old or famous.
Even though here in Portugal we have our own music, "Fado", what I'd love to share is something else. Dead Combo combine several genres of music incluiding rock, blues and even fado, all into an amazing fusion that leaves you wanting more. So here's my pick 🙂
I'm from Estonia. Frankly some of the local stuff I care about is not on Spotify, but since the biggest ISP brings Spotify here (and the other competes with Deezer), hopefully things change soon.
Links lead you to their Spotify artist pages.
Anyway, Estonia is... a small country. There are pretty special sounds that nod to our cultural background and folk music, our own punk scene etc, and there are very famous singers who write songs more reminiscent of western pop.
The most famous classical music composer is Arvo Pärt. I got in touch with a fellow Amon Tobin listener from UK, and he said that he loves Arvo's music, so I thought it's nice to mention him.
An example of folk would be Curly Strings. Some songs have really cool lyrics.
Good examples of Estonian punk rock sound are J.M.K.E and Vennaskond. Many of their songs are pretty much legends and every Estonian with enough culture in their blood should know their songs. ; )
Now to the famous singers in this local pond:
Ott Lepland - rose from 'Estonian Superstar' show, really loved by many.
Both he and Koit Toome have been to Eurovision (won't talk about the results...) Koit also discovered he has an impressive high-end / falsetto department and now his Christmas sessions are spent in various churches and soulful Christmas concerts, singing completely different repertoire of content than what you can hear on his Spotify page... :')
Vanilla Ninja is from Estonia, a girl band from Tallinn, the capital of Est. They had quite a fame in Europe and were loved by many. The band has been discontinued for about 9 years now, though.
There is likely a lot more to cover up, but I don't want to make it too long. 🙂
I'm from a small town in MA, called Lynn. And the sound of music here is very hip hop driven. Stream my latest track "Got A Bag" here.

We have a really stong acoustic/folk scene 🙂

This is a topic very long and difficult to enter, but I'll only take three examples of groups of the 80's (Caifanes), 90s (Maldita Vecindad) and Café Tacvba which, to date, still making music for over 25 years.
These two songs are not part of the successes of the group, but if you use some very typical of our country style including the letters

This band is a similar case as the fusion of Mexican styles and elsewhere had much success and had international recognition

Finally the Cafe Tacvba, this band is one of the most important in our history and its change and evolution have been very marked, leave only some samples where to touch a little bit of everything what represents us

Won't put more than their profiles of some of the most important of the music in my country as it would be the case of Vicente Fernandez, Juan Gabriel, Pedro Infante, Pedro Vargas, José Alfredo Jimenez, Los Tigres del Norte, etc, etc, etc.
I live in Trieste, Italy.

Great thread! Here's a playlist of music from the Isle of Wight, a small island at the bottom of UK which is home to a lot of excellent and varied musicians plus the famous folk/rock/pop festival. You can listen below:
