Tinariwen (Deserts) are a group of musicians from Mali.

The band was formed in 1979 and started gaining followers outside Mali only in 2001.

The band had gained recognition with the release of the album "Aman Iman" in 2007. 

Since 2007 the band had released 4 more albums which helped them with radio and festival appearances and visits to the famous NPR's Tiny Desk.

Releasing their 8th studio album this week with a lot of unique arabian and african typical sounds which takes the listeners to unexpected places.
