Piano Solos

Piano Solos

I am curious to know if there are here a few (or tons) of fans of piano music in the broadest possible sense:

- hard core classical music like Mozart, Haydn, Schubert

- contemporary classical like Debussy or Satie

- hard core avantgarde like Schönberg or Stockhausen

- so-called modern / minimal piano light ballades like Einaudi, Nyman, Glass

- Pop instrumentals (for piano...)

- Latin (salsa, tango, bossa nova...)

or any other category I am forgetting now

For instance, is there any K-pop for solo piano?

I am a big fan of

  • Mozart and my favorite music of his is Turkish March
  • Beethoven and the favorite piano solo is fur Elise

Hi,

oh there's so much to discover....

I think the pianoworks by Simeon ten Holt are wonderful, especially 'Canto Ostinato'

spotify:user:musicajet:playlist:5Pd5neAdhUb9lvI3oiPsp1

I really like the piano etudes of Philip Glass, played by Maki Namekawa

spotify:album:7fAV0q7la4SLQ3Z9jXbA0n

Most of the time I listen to classical composers. I've made a quiet playlist (Janacek, Scarlatti, Alkan, Poulenc, Shostakovich) and a more vivid swinging list (with for example Granados, de Falla, Lecuona, Milhaud)

quiet: spotify:user:musicajet:playlist:2wLccyns8tHgJOqQRkLswu

more vivid: spotify:user:musicajet:playlist:6n91uO0Gu4FhglK9DVF8l3

Enjoy!

Frank Ocean's Blonde (2016) is a masterful album in contemporary R&B. After it debuted, a solo piano version of every song was released, under the album Piano Tribute to Frank Ocean by an unknown artist (although some believe it to be Ocean himself). I do not casually listen to piano melodies, but I will always make an exception for this cover album.

Wow I just finish reading all you answers and @klaudiapianist love your songs I already tweeted the newest single and also a shoutout in Instagram congratulations, I want to know when you are going to release this album?

I’ll be waiting.

Hi,

My playlist dark sad piano is now slowly gaining some followers. Not much 39 but every week a few people join. I don't mind adding a song from a pianist over here. If it's a sad or really dark song that is. That's the theme.

Greetings Roberto

Hi @robertovNL ! if you want, you can use my Album "LULLABY" .... I believe it is suitable for you playlist, I follow your playlist and i like it !

Hello Roberto!

I'm a huge fan of classical piano music, modern and classic/romantic period.

I started learning the piano at 6yrs of age and have been playing for 16 years non-stop!

My personal favourites of the classical and romantic eras are Chopin and Mozart.

I'm a big fan of Valentin Silvestrov and his Bagatelle no. 1

I'm a very huge fan of Ludovico Einaudi and Giovanni Allevi and have learnt may pieces of theirs over the years.

In recent years, I have started composing myself. Here's a sample.

Let me know what you think!

Please consider adding my album to your playlist! I followed!

Thanks.

Now that you've been given all the great well-known pieces, try Jean-Philippe Collard Neven. He does contemorary classical. His latest album is with an oud player, Nasser Houari. It's very moody and worth a listen.
