Post a song of a different genre than the previous song

Post a song of a different genre than the previous song

This game is meant to be played by taking turns posting songs, with each posted track representing a different genre of music compared to the track posted just above it.

When posting a song, it will be helpful to write the name of the genre(s) along with the track that you share. That way, the next person to post can make sure to choose a song that represents a different genre.

(I like to use last.fm to check the representative genres of music; however, you can refer to whichever resource you prefer to identify the genre(s) of the songs that you choose to share).

Here’s a track to start:

Genres of this song: psychedelic rock, stoner rock, progressive rock

Cheers!

Great idea @AdamDamon !

Track: spotify:track:1xErKvTvMqszpokp8Mr3Mq

According to last.fm, its genres are: Pop, Soundtrack

I'd also add dark or epic cause it sounds very much like it belongs in these as well, but I'm not the most well versed in music genres so I'm open to counter-suggestions 😄

Also, @IIama - cool classical track you shared there! I've heard this melody before - it's kinda well known, but I've never known its title. Will be saving it in my favorite focus-type playlist, thanks for sharing it!

Genres: HouseGrimeDubstepIndie Rock

Grime is a genre of electronic dance music that emerged in London in the early 2000s. It developed out of earlier UK electronic music styles, including UK garage and jungle, and draws influence from dancehall, ragga, and hip hop. The style is typified by rapid, syncopated breakbeats, generally around 140 bpm, and often features an aggressive or jagged electronic sound. Rapping is also a significant element of the style, and lyrics often revolve around gritty depictions of urban life.

I will share something from Bollywood.
More specifically from the soundtrack of Shalimar, a track by Lata Mangeshkar. It blows my mind in so many ways... Wonderful piece of music!

Hey! This is a cool and fun topic.

And you certainly made a nice-to-hear recommendation. I'll go to the world of strong basslines and processed vocals and recommend you people a top-notch post-punk piece. If you like the sound of it, you are more than welcomed to follow my playlist.
