Collaborative playlist links not working

Hey everyone, 

 

We've received some reports from users who have issues joining and inviting other users to collaborative playlists.

 

This is being investigated.

Thanks for your patience while we looked into this issue.

 

We’re happy to say that this should now be fixed in version 8.9.34. Make sure to upgrade before generating another link and do let us know if the issue persists with this app version.

hey @MihailY  im still having problems with the collaboration playlist, and my app is up to date. is there anything that i can do or you can do to help?

@Seeds, can you give me the version of your desktop app so I can check with the team?

 

@loriii, are you also using the latest version of iOS? If yes, try reinstalling and send over your exact Spotify and iOS version if the issue persists.

My collaborative link isn’t working either. We’ve tried everything that the forums have suggested, and both of our apps are updated.

I had this work for me yesterday but I had to click on the link a couple different times before it worked.

@MihailY I made a collaborative playlist with my friends, so it shows I'm the creator but it's not showing up on my library?? It shows that 2 people have saved the playlist (the 2 friends I added to it), but it's nowhere to be seen on my account, not on my library, not my recent, not my history, etc. I haven't deleted it, and it shows the songs I've added; I can add new songs, or I can't even recover the playlist. My friends sent me the link and it shows the songs I've added, I can add new songs and it shows I'm the creator, but it won't let me save it.  SO im having to get my friends to just resend me the link once the link expires so I can listen to the playlist.

My friend and I have had the same issue for weeks now. Was chatting with
support yesterday for 5 hrs and still nothing. They even had me create a
playlist on their test account and it didn't work either. They should
probably go back a couple updates and go back to the way it was before this
started. So frustrating!!!

Also experiencing this issue. Unable to collaborate on playlists, unable to have friends collaborate on mine. Happens on both desktop and mobile. 

Desktop app version Spotify for macOS (Apple Silicon) 1.2.37.701.ge66eb7bc

Mobile version on Samsung S24 Ultra 8.9.38.494

Interesting find.....my friend ended up joining Spotify Premium and
magically ALL the issue's disappeared with the collaborative playlists. At
least for us anyway. Funny how when I asked if that could be the issue as
one of us did not have premium, they assured me that would not make a
difference as Collaborative was for any Spotify user, not just premium
users! Hummmmm
